Dragonshard Item for a SoulKnife

Jun 16, 2008 22:17:14 I have a player in my campaign who's starting a 5th level SoulKnife and is enamored of the idea of a hereditary Dragonshard item; something passed from father to son throughout the centuries (he's Elven).
I'd like to give him something appropriate for a SoulKnife...w/out necessarily implying that all his bloodline were Soulknives..knifes...you get what I mean :D

Anything in particular spring to mind?

Jun 16, 2008 23:18:21 How about a Dragonshard Pommel Stone. Could of been part of his father's weapon from the Last War, which he received from his father an so on. Since it is removable and its powers can be anything you'd put into a weapon, you could then find some benefit that would aid a soulknife.

Jun 17, 2008 9:21:25 Is he a dragonmarked character? If not, a dragonshard item won't do much for him.

He's a member of House Thuranni, though he keeps his distance from most of the House's nefarious affairs (or so he thinks MUWAHAHAA! *cough* Muwa...)

Jun 17, 2008 11:04:15 Do you like Weapons of Legacy. Mau-Jehe would be extremely fitting for this soulknife. Just tack on an ability that requires the use of a dragonmark power, and you'd be done.

Jun 17, 2008 16:31:43 I made a weapon for a Thuranni rogue in my group.

It was actually a 4 1/2 inch long Siberys shard, which had been shaped in the manner of an obsidian blade, with the bottom half of the crystal wrapped in wire.

It's a +2 dagger, add's 1d6 negative energy damage, and when he backstabs, he can use his dragonmark (if he has uses left) as a free action to put darkness on the target.

Jun 21, 2008 12:53:30 Bracers of some sort could be cool. Maybe like bracers of archery, except that they grant their attack and/or damage bonus to light weapons. Light weapons seem ideal for a House of Shadow...:D

I also came up with a psionic item for soulknives a while back that could be adapted to your needs.
