| #2oidSep 18, 2008 14:51:41 | yo, i've been lurkin' around for awhile so i thought i'd post something. i've been thinking about that for some time now actually. makin' a drow ranger and givin' 'em profiency with the spiked chain would be the simplest way, but you could really spice it up with some racial feats like in the RoE. sorry still adjusting, i assumed that the spike chain was a double weapon, but they don't exist- makes me wonder how the valenar double-scimitar will work?- some maybe a fighter in light armor... |

However, as Spiked Chain is a superior weapon, I would limit the feat to giving proficiency with it only (however, you would still get the +2 to damage). |
| #4nerdicusSep 18, 2008 15:22:10 | Personally I always liked the Darguun mauler style of spiked chain fighter much better then the drow spiked chain fighter....:D That said, I think you could fit the spiked chain fighter into a few classes and the application of said combatant would differ depending on the class and class roll. Ilke you could have a fighter or paladin based spiked chain fighter that are more about defending, or a warlord who is all about control of the field through tactics. With just a tiny bit of re-flavoring you can do just about anything with 4th edition. |

DOUBLE WEAPONS Wielding a double weapon is like wielding a weapon in each hand. The first die given in the damage column of the table for a double weapon is for the primary (or main) end of the weapon; the second damage die is for the secondary (or off-hand) end. You can use either end of a double weapon to deliver an attack unless a power specifies a main or off-hand weapon attack. An enchanted double weapon receives an enhancement bonus on both ends, but weapon properties or powers conferred by the enchantment affect only the primary end of the weapon. Like two-handed weapons, double weapons cannot normally be wielded by Small creatures unless the weapon has the small property. also they have the defensive property which gives them a +1 to your AC |
| #7oidSep 19, 2008 18:31:22 | wow! did you come up with that or did you get it out of the adventurer's vault? oh and of course it would be a superior weapon. can't let that kind of power in the hands of common adventurers. ha,ha,ha!;) |
| #8johnny-gaijinSep 20, 2008 0:11:03 | it's from the adventurer's vault. |
