So is Eberron (3.5) a good place to attempt this? For those veteran gamemasters who have dabbled in this, where do you suggest I start learning how to run a political driven world and how do I encourage my players to begin world building: attempt to become nobility or head or an army? Or build or gain their place in political power or even run that political power from behind the scenes? Any opinion about this is appreciated. (And off topic, how do I find an old post of mine?) |

Certainly Eberron would be a great place for politicking, you have a simmering cold war, multiple nations who hate each other, and powerful corporations equal to said nations. Sadly enough I can't help you on the actual politicking though not really my thing. |

You need to talk to them and find out: do they want to deal with the politics of the Dragonmarked Houses? A new guild making a name for themselves in Xen'drik? A political movement agitating for the rights of warforged? I think once you get your players to decide who they want to be dealing with and where, your job will get pretty easy. |
