Jul 21, 2009 21:28:01 I just got my copy a few hours ago and, as a consistent DM and huge fan of Eberron, this book is exactly what Ive hoped for since I heard about 4E. I don't even know where to begin as for the valuable information within the pages (I will be reading it from cover to cover after the kids are in bed). But I want to point out something that they did to actually one-up the Forgotten Realms CG:They used the other side of the world map! Yes, that's right, not only did we get a beautiful map of Eberron, but the other side is a map to use with the adventure in the back of the book AND a map of a generic city street to use for those "random" encounters. Way to go WOTC, you listened to US!

Ok, I'm done doing my Happy Dance, you may now resume your normal browsing......

Not just a "generic city street" but a "generic Sharn city street" which is immensely useful.

Now all we need is a poster map of an airship and we are set!

They used the other side of the world map!

At first I freaked out and thought you meant they had a map of Eberron on one side and a map of Khorvaire on the other and was all like "Oh noes, must I purchase two ECGs so I can put both maps on my wall?" But then I read

Yes, that's right, not only did we get a beautiful map of Eberron, but the other side is a map to use with the adventure in the back of the book AND a map of a generic city street to use for those "random" encounters.

and was all like "Whew."

Jul 23, 2009 12:33:43 I love what I've heard about the map, also love what I've heard about how the book is organized (monsters in the relevant 'region' rather than big set at the back).

Can't wait till my FLGS gets in my ordered copy tomorrow.

Jul 23, 2009 14:57:50 A little sad that the map cutaways for each of the Five Nations are inaccurate in places, at least it appears that the artist was in denial about Breland extending as far east as it does.

For example, the cutaway map of the Mournland has DARGUUN printed right across the Breland/Darguun border, and the Darguun map shows Darguun bordered to the north by Thrane.
