I thought people might be interested in checking out my groups Eberron Campaign Log. Please note, this log has some major spoilers in regards to the quest in the back of the Eberron Campaign Guide. Hope you enjoy!

I thought it was really well done. I enjoy reading about others adventures and learning more about how different people play together. I would say you should keep up the work. Still trying to figure out what some of the characters are. Oh well, one fight will not reveal a lot I guess.

That was quite a fun read. I'm quite intrigued by that Obsidian Portal site as well.

I'm going to be running this, hopefully on sunday night, so it's good to see how someone else has done it.

My party is made up of pc's from different sides in the battle as well:

A Cyran warforged fighter
A Karnaathi warlord - on the Brelish side at this point
A Kundurak artificer - could go either way
A Deva from the demon wastes - drawn by portents of very bad things - could go either way
Possibly 1 other - maybe a halfling

One of the things that's been worrying me is that the players (well one in particular) might just decide to kill each other on sight rather than teaming up, since they're supposed to be at war - how did you deal with this aspect in your game? Was there a bit at the start where each person was with the DM individually, so out-of-game knowledge was restricted, or were you all together?

The characters are an Eladrin Fighter, Talanta Halfling Ranger, Goliath Shaman, and Human (I think he is a Kalashtar) Cleric. Its all in the hyperlinks/setting wiki.

Our DM gave us all a piece of paper that introduced us to the situation, and gave us a reason to head out to the tower. As for why we didn't kill each other on sight, just an unspoken OOC communal agreement stopped that from happening. The point of the game is to create a communal session of storytelling. When someone tries to kill off a protagonist on sight, it sort of ruins the possibility of that. :P

Basically, we all looked for every reason NOT to kill each other on sight. Other will have to speak for their character motivations themselves. For me, my scout wanted to know more about the situation, didn't know if the "elf" (Eladrin) was a friend or ally (he wore a Cyran cloak), and didn't meet the Goliath or the Cleric until they were helping him defeat Kruthik. He had no reason to attack anyone. By the time he knew that the Goliath was Brelish (an enemy) nobody was an enemy anymore. Everyone was just trying to figure out was going on, and if the world was in the process of ending.

Why would someone need papers to prove that Mabu was Mabu? Who else would Mabu be? Big people were strange sometimes.

loving it so far.

A bit too much from Mabu's perspective, but not bad.

Yea. I really want some of the other players to jump in and add some paragraphs written from their perspective. But, since I am only playing the Mabu character, and as not everyone is sharing the full extent of their back story with the rest of the group (we want the experience of meeting each other and adventuring together in game to be the actual experience of learning more about each others characters), I can't really write anything from their perspective myself. Its not my place. I need them to jump in and edit the story to add some more of their own perspective to what I wrote. Sorry...

In any case, its not really a representation of my professional writing. I haven't put nearly the amount of time or effort into that that I do for my own professional and semi-professional projects. And, I don't usually write fantasy. It's not really my shtick. Its really just a gaming resource for our group to help us all remember what has happened in prior games in detail. But I figured that people here might get something of a kick out of it, so I thought I would share.

loving it so far.

Thank you.

The line you quoted is actually one of my favorite lines from the log. I think its one of those lines that really accurately captures Mabu's personality and perspective. :D

Thank you. Its not anything special, but I appreciate the kind words. As soon as I get some of the school work I am doing right now off my plate, I will write and put up the rest of the log form my groups last game session. Also, on the 23rd we have another game session planned, so I will have even more to put up after that.

Don't get me wrong it still a good read and I figured as much, can't get the players to post on my wiki either so it's all generic summary on most pages.
