Hi all,

 

I posted over on The Piazza about the idea of that community creating a Eberron Fanzine. Big Mac suggested I post a notice here for all the diehard Eberron fans on this forum to see who might be interested and to invite you over to the The Piazza. Here's the link to the thread/topic...

This is something I would be very interested in doing and I feel like we have a lot of people that like to make their own content. If you're looking for information about setup for a netzine, you may want to check out Quoth the Raven over at Fraternity of Shadows, the Ravenloft fan community. We're a pretty active community and QtR has been going for quite some time. I don't know if Eberron has quite as many dedicated followers with enough time to work on a netzine, but their general setup might give you ideas.

 

ADDENDUM: I hesitate to say this... but here goes. I would consider heading up or co-heading such a project. I am not saying I would be the best choice, but I typically do have the time necessary for this (the small miracles of a desk job). That said, I'm also running two/three campaigns at the moment, which eats up a lot of my creative energy and spare time. But. If we had enough of an interest in this and no one to give it the initial push, I could attempt to take the lead. If that's what people wanted.

Let's brainstorm a bit. What kind of articles do you all think we could cover? I'd love to have some things on the planes of Eberron, but that may be a bit ambitious at the start. What else?

I want to write on Thrane and the Silver Flame (I already posted about it in the Piazza, along with my ideas on what would be important for the Fan Magazine of the best campaign setting ever: Eberron ;))

There have been 32 replies to the discussion that Knightfall started about this over at The Piazza, before I suggested he come and talk to people here.

 

I have most of the 3rd Edition Eberron books, but am still learning about it. So I'm not sure what I could contribute as a writer.

 

However, I am one of the Junior Administrators over at The Piazza. There are two previous D&D campaign setting fan magazines, that The Piazza has supported. The first is a Mystara fanzine, called Threshold Magazine and the second is a Spelljammer fanzine, called Wildspace: The Spelljammer Fanzine. The Piazza has supported the teams that came together to set up both of those projects with a private discussion forum. I have suggested that the team trying to organise an Eberron fanzine, might also find a private forum useful. I am still waiting for feedback on that, but I have put a provisional request in to the owner of The Piazza. (I am pretty sure she would be happy to support the project, but I wanted to put the wheels in motion.)
