As an Eberron setting first timer, I'm looking for some advice on building and playing a warforged wizard.

Any type of advice would be appreciated greatly.

Is this for 4E or 3.5E? For 3.5 you probably want to take a warforged feat to change the body type so you don't have arcane spell failure. Unfortunately I don't have the Eberron books and have not made a warforged wizard so I can't offer much more advice.

Actually, if you keep the standard warforged plating (in 3.5) you only have a 5% chance of failure, for added durability. I'd keep the plating, personally. Also if this is 3.5 take at least one of the repair spells, just in case you need to heal yourself. When you can, take the feats to craft wands and make a wand of repair to heal yourself.

Other than that, play a Warforged wizard how you would play a wizard of any other race - depending on the characters personality.

As for 4e, well, play whatever you like. It doesn't matter much, as all the choices seem to be equaly good. However, a warforged with a warsoul weapon and the Wizard of the Spiral Tower Paragon path is pretty darn good.

My 10 year old son is playing a Warfored Wizard using 4e and loving every minute of it. I will have to suggest your advice to him :D
