| #2Charles_PhippsSep 04, 2007 21:57:28 | I'm sorry man, I hate to ruin your fun but the Poster Maker doesn't save your work. You have to save it on something like Photobucket or it'll disappear in time. I suggest if you still have your original posters, you save them now onto your computer. |
| #3count_nerindil_van_seraphSep 04, 2007 22:03:40 | [VADER]NOOOOOOOOO![/VADER] Eh. I'll see what I can do tomorrow. Stay tuned for partial excitement! |
| #4HellcowSep 04, 2007 23:03:33 | I look forward to seeing them! |
| #5macrovoreSep 04, 2007 23:10:19 | oh, man. Now they have to be good. |
| #6NivedSep 04, 2007 23:37:17 | PRESSURE! Sorry, couldn't resist. ... PRESSURE! |
| #7macrovoreSep 04, 2007 23:40:01 | Pressure, pushing down on me Pressing down on you, no man ask for Under pressure, that burns a building down Splits a family in two Puts people on streets |
| #8Charles_PhippsSep 04, 2007 23:40:40 | With all due respect, to the count, here's some to tide people over while he redoes his. |
| #9macrovoreSep 04, 2007 23:42:36 | You should have put a picture of Marlon Brando for the Gnomes one. But the orcs one was really funny. |

| #11HellcowSep 05, 2007 1:41:02 | You should have put a picture of Marlon Brando for the Gnomes one. Dangerous Liasons works for me. After all, the point is that they're more sinister than they appear to be. ;) Great work, Charles. |
| #12macrovoreSep 05, 2007 1:44:09 | ah. I haven't seen that movie, so I didn't know where the reference was from. come to think of it, I can't place any of them. except for the Flash Gordon thing. And I think the hippie is just a hippie. |
| #13Charles_PhippsSep 05, 2007 2:07:42 | Try these two. Artifice )' /> |
| #14nlogueSep 05, 2007 2:38:09 | ah. I haven't seen that movie, so I didn't know where the reference was from. See it!!! It's soooooo good. And would make great intrigue Eberron fodder if you ask me. |
| #15count_nerindil_van_seraphSep 05, 2007 10:41:48 | Hmmm... I'm using this website to make them. I try to upload the pictures to Flickr, but it gives me this rigmarole about "The metadata server cluster is currently disabled for maintenance. We'll be re-enabling it shortly, so please check back later." Can someone give me a hand with this or is there just nothing I can do at the moment? |
| #16count_nerindil_van_seraphSep 05, 2007 10:42:56 | Wait a moment. I might *dun dun duuuun* have a plan. |
| #17Charles_PhippsSep 05, 2007 10:50:21 | I use Photobucket. Though I'll happily let you use my account if you wish. |

| #21HellcowSep 05, 2007 15:37:01 | Very nice, Count. Lots of good ones, but I think I'll have to put "Phiarlan: The reason you're afraid of clowns" at the top of my list. |
| #22creature_mastermindSep 05, 2007 15:45:08 | I think I'll have to put Same here And very nice work how do you do it!?!?!?!?!?! |

| #72PaulonSep 07, 2007 23:21:27 | http://bighugelabs.com/photos/f6dbe4ad6b301a819bf00680c22cbea0/motivator4442307 The first thing you need to do is save the picture and upload it somewhere else. The creator site deletes them after a while, so after a bit your link won't work. I've uploaded your image to my site, at http://www.ultimainfo.net/Misc/motivator4442307.jpg so it doesn't go away. When you reply use the Insert Image function in the reply options above the text box. It's the yellow one which looks like a postcard of mountains with a stamp in the top right corner. That gives you a box which you put the URL of the image into. Alternately, using square brackets instead of round ones, just type (IMG)http://www.imageurl.com/imagename.jpg(/IMG) And this should be the result: ![]() |

| #76kaizer_ryuSep 07, 2007 23:46:36 | How do I make it high-def? If the picture you used was a small one, it was most likely stretched out and pixellated in the process of being fitted to the frame. If you find a bigger picture, it should fix the problem. |

| #131hopelessSep 09, 2007 13:00:41 | Actually, Batman's Brelish. He gets his Paladinhood through being more awesome than anyone but Grim, check unrelenting attitude, check has an undead style motif, check The only thing brelish about him is the fact one of his sidekicks goes around in a bright red, green and yellow outfit, the fact he's gone through three kids wearing that gear says quite a bit! And he's a karrn, its the only place outside of sharn that has the right vibe and Sharn however isn't big enough for someone who works all night and sleeps all day... |
| #132zombiegleemaxSep 09, 2007 14:28:59 | I've gone for something closer to an actual "Motivator" rather than just captioning an image. (Not to say some of the caption ones aren't hilarious, mind.) |

| #169inkblotSep 11, 2007 1:10:25 | Female Personality Warforged: Not entirely what Keith had in mind.[/IMG] Ah, GitS. What a wonderful manga and anime. I've wanted to run a GitS-themed game for a very long time. When Eberron came out, it was obviously the right setting for it. In my opinion, Motoko is an elan. She's an XPH elan -- not the illogical Quori-prison "all psionics must be Quori related" elans. She's a multiclass psion (telepath)/rogue with Urban Tracking, Investigate, and Research. Other full-body-prosthetic people would be elan as well, unless they were particularly inhuman characters. Then they would be warforged. People with only some prosthetics (like the sniper guy with the eye) would simply have grafts - warforged grafts or otherwise. Fuchikoma/Tachikoma are phase spiders. They're wearing barding and a special saddle that allows a rider to phase with them. They're either a web-spinning variant wearing boots of skating, or standard phase spiders with items of entangling ectoplasm. Cyberbrains (psibranes) are small psionic devices that give you a tiny power point reserve and a single power to use it on (Hidden Talent in a can). Mindlink and call to mind are the most common variety. Cursed psibranes aren't common, and impose a -2 penalty to saves against telepathy powers. To enable the class struggle central to most cyberpunk stories, the game takes place a few years past the standard campaign starting year. A new kind of living construct has been created- the workforged. Basically warforged, minus the composite plating, plus a +2 to one craft or profession skill of their choice and built-in tools for that skill. Somehow this technically doesn't break the treaty of Thronehold, but it does make foreign relations very tense. Everything else translates pretty obviously, I think. The campaign would feature all the players as members of the Dark Lantern's Section 9 (not necessarily as Motoko and crew). They wouldn't take treasure from dead monsters, but would get the standard amount of treasure through their regular pay plus bonuses for a job well done (minimal casualties/collateral damage, etc). If the heroes find any powerful magic equipment for their Cannith allies to reverse engineer, copies of those items are bound to turn up in Section 9's own armory before the next big emergency. |
| #170OgiwanSep 11, 2007 8:16:46 | .....or you could just go d20 Modern, using the Cyberpunk book. 'Course, i don't know if it's any good. |

| #172AlasSep 11, 2007 11:09:44 | Fuchikoma/Tachikoma are phase spiders. They're wearing barding and a special saddle that allows a rider to phase with them. The only thing cooler than a mount that can walk up walls is a mount that can walk through walls. |

| #174inkblotSep 11, 2007 14:49:15 | The only thing cooler than a mount that can walk up walls is a mount that can walk through walls. Yesh! Even if my GitS game never happens, just once I want to have a character with a phase spider mount/cohort. .....or you could just go d20 Modern, using the Cyberpunk book. 'Course, i don't know if it's any good. Bah. That's the easy way out! ;) Seriously though, half the beauty of D&D is that you can bring in any cultural reference you want and still have it work in some way. And not only will it work somehow, but it will also be able to fight dragons and kill gods! D&D is, in many ways, The Ultimate Showdown Of Ultimate Destiny in tabletop form. This should be self-evident just flicking through the Monster Manual. We've got Godzilla, mini-C'thulus, centaurs, pod people, zombies, fairies, Lion-o, and derro - just to name a few. It's not that I want to recreate Ghost In The Shell - it's that I want to see Section 9 vs Godzilla while on the run from pod people and attempting to recover the Maltese falcon from zombie Nazis in shining armor. |
| #175Charles_PhippsSep 11, 2007 14:57:55 | Really, it boils down to the idea that there's something surreally funny about the idea of.... Breland's Dark Lantern team including a man and woman that are almost entirely Warforged Grafts, a cocky sniper, a former City Guardsman, and a bunch of Construct Octopus that were bought on discount from House Cannith. Especially if you're players get the reference. |

| #212Charles_PhippsSep 13, 2007 11:59:53 | I'm not trying to step on you or anything, but have you read the Dark Elf Trilogy? They are, at least, even. Let me compare... * Drizzt Do'Urden raised in Hellish environment * Father killed * Exiled from race * A man that lives with no one that loves him because of the color of his skin. vs. Daine * Exorciate from his house because he believed in Cyre (Why would he? That's the question.) * Cyre is totally blown away by the Mourning. * Loses his best friend. * Girlfriend dumps him because she's a robot. * Becomes possessed by Quori. * Becomes possessed by Ghost of his old friend. * Becomes an Abberant Dragonmark. * Gets abandoned by his friends. |
| #213dragoondarkfireSep 13, 2007 12:01:31 | Hmmmm... we don't know a lot about Daine from the Trilogy. Only that he was a member of House Deneith but left to join the Cyrean army. I know that he probably did something pretty damn bad while he was a member of the house (which probably caused him to leave) but from the looks of it I'd say that booth Drizzt and Daine are equal in the realm of getting kicked out of their homeland (for Drizzt it was actually more of getting kicked out, Daine's was more like one bad accident) and winding up in a bad place having to eark out a life as an adventurer. (Drizzt get's Icewindale, Daine gets Sharn). |

| #362PaulonSep 26, 2007 22:20:03 | I must know where the pic that inspired so much Win originates from. :D It's originally from the British TV series Red Dwarf. One of the main characters, Arnold Rimmer, is a total and utterly useless failure. In a parallel universe however, he grew up to become Ace Rimmer, totally supercool, able to beat Chuck Norris and Pun-pun simultaneously with both hands tied behind his back fighting skills, always gets the girl, does things like skydive on a pet crocodile. That's Ace on the croc in the picture. It's rather amusing how the two react when Ace shows up to meet Arnold. |

The image disappears about ten minutes after being created. Demon_Paladin needs to upload the image to an image hosting site like Flickr or Photobucket. I'm pretty sure that the reason Revvecor can see it is he/she uploaded the image in the short window between being posted and timing out. His/her computer is uploading the image stored on their computer in place of the Bluehugelabs tab the rest of us see. Something similar happened to me before. |

The SRD states: “Half-fiend” is an inherited template that can be added to any living, corporeal creature with an Intelligence score of 4 or more and nongood alignment (referred to hereafter as the base creature). Warforged are living, corporeal, can't have an Int under 4 if you use point-buy, and have no racial alignment trait, so can be nongood. Enjoy your demon-robot. :D |

Someone would post a large post of raw code, or would try to post a picture and fail to use the right tags and mess up their post, and someone would post a picture of something like a guy sitting on a horse backwards or a guy pressing an electric shaver into his wrist with the caption "You're Doing It Wrong." Edit: Like most net-Memes, there's about a 95% chance it started on 4chan. Everything starts on 4chan, or Something Aweful. |

| #501yadotOct 22, 2007 19:16:29 | Okay, you'll need to explain this one to me... In one of the threads in the General Forums a poster asked why the people around him didn't like Eberron. This soon devolved into a minor setting flame war in which the different campaign settings were compared to tea (Coffee is black and tea is black, :. Eberron is Steampunk, Green tea and Black tea come from the same plant :. both Faerun and Eberron are DnD, just different flavors). Then someone stated thank the Eberron supporters shouldn't force [us] to drink [their tea]. EvilVegan(?) then replied, "This is our tea, you must drink it." and a meme was born. |

| #822EdymnionMay 04, 2008 17:43:46 | Renegade Mastermake = the PrC you're describing. It's a member of House Cannith who adds Warforged Parts to his body. That would turn you into a WF alright, but it wouldn't really fit the theme (well, it would for the second pic, but not for Ironman in general). Instead, take Mithril Full Plate, give it Strength and Dex boosters, a built in Ioun Stone of Adaption, boots of flying, and use the wand slot extra from... whatever book it was in that lets you stick a wand in a weapon and be considered to be weilding both the wand and the weapon at the same time... and put that into a gauntlet. Boom, ya gots Iron Man. |

If you want to be the film version, the armor has to be (helpfully) sentient somehow. Actually, right after the film my friends and I immediately started discussing how to have Tony Stark in Eberron (movie version specifically). My solution was an incredibly brilliant Cannith artificer with a Greater Dragonmark. We couldn't agree on wether his original powered armor designs were stolen and used to create Warforged, or if he was a manufacturer of other terrible weapons and then got to see first-hand what those weapons in the wrong hands would do after being captured by the other side during the Last War (and in captivity was forced to make weapons except he really made powered armor inspired by the design of Warforged and proceeded to escape.) Something. Meh. |

Although I would contend that TDK's Joker represented the Traveler very well (especially that speech he gives Harvey Dent in the hospital about people and their plans). I think the principal difference between the Joker and the Traveler isn't violence, but publicity. |

| #1010NivedJun 04, 2009 2:31:31 | Its the Ultimate NullifierThe Ultimate Nullifier is a fictional item of immense power in the Marvel Universe. The device made its first appearance in Fantastic Four volume 1, issue #50 (May 1966), in which Johnny Storm retrieves it from the home of Galactus -- as directed by Uatu the Watcher -- for the Fantastic Four to employ against the threat of Galactus himself. The Nullifier appears as a small, hand-held metallic device with no apparent functionality. When first introduced in 1966 it was described as the only known weapon in the universe capable of inspiring fear in Galactus. Its basically a 'gun' that will nullify existence in a localized area, say the western spiral arm of the milky way galaxy. Using it would mean the destruction of Earth, but Galactus wants to EAT Earth so really its a 'we're going to take you with us' threat. |

| #1044eehamburgJun 19, 2009 11:34:45 | My guess: There isn't. Those muscles look inflatable. I sure hope so ... |
| #1045misterfido_dupJun 19, 2009 13:09:50 | My guess: There isn't. Those muscles look inflatable. There is actually a genetic 'disease' that causes prevents people's muscles to grow disproportionately to the amount of work they do. It causes babies with visible muscle groups, which leads to kids who can deal serious damage to those around them. If any amount of ACTUAL body building is involved for people with that illness, the resulting teens who look like bodybuilders, and adults look like that guy. Is it fake? Entirely possible. But if that disease--whose name escapes me, but on the internet, somebody will remember it--hits only a few people per million, you can be assured those few people will have plenty of photos taken of their muscles. And those photos end up on the internet, and thus, we could find them for our motivational posters. So fake? Possible. But legitimate? Equally plausible. EDIT: Not everyone with a genetic illness winds up with a weak heart, mental retardation or shriveled limbs, after all.. some people get the genetic illnesses that make us all jealous =P |

| #1050misterfido_dupJun 19, 2009 21:25:31 | Or long term steroid abuse. True =P The point is, whether he doesn't have the normal genetic limiters on muscle mass most people do, or a genetic illness, or an overabundance of steroids (which seem unlikely--that much muscle mass draining his blood + the cumulative effect of the steroids required to get there weakening his heart = heart attack every time he flexes), it's entirely possible it's not fake =P |
| #1051NivedJun 19, 2009 21:42:58 | While I didn't see him flexing like that I recall not long ago seeing the ringleader of a steroid selling ring taking a 'perp walk' on the news. His neck muscles were freaky like that dude's, you know shoulder to forehead (seriously, how could the cops not catch this guy? "Hey Lou, sure seems like a lot of steroids have been showing up lately." "Lets ask that guy." "What guy?" "The one without a neck." "Oh that guy.") That's the only other time I've seen muscles like that... which is why I say roids. |

Why aren't there any Khan Noonien Singh's? or Roy Batty's? Who says there aren't? Look at the Vidalis prestige class from the Dragonmarked Houses. Moreover, who says there aren't, period? It's a natural extension of the House, after all. If Dragons can do it in Pathfinder, I don't see any reason why some other Dragon couldn't work with Vidalis to do the same in Eberron. ==Aelryinth |

Nate (center) a highly skilled fraud investigator together with a crew of people he used to catch including a strong arm mercenary, con artist grifter, a cat burglar, and a hacker start knocking off big corporations and other powerful people who screw people over. Sort of like a robinhood/A-team kinda thing. They find people who have been wronged but have no legal recourse and they provide 'leverage' to get the people what they deserve (and a little extra for themselves, but only after the injured party gets what they deserve). Usually landing the power person who did the screwing in jail or ruining them financially. Its on TNT. I heard about it on Wil Wheaton's blog actually, he's going to be in an ep of season 2. |

I guess it wouldn't really surprise me, given the Aerenal are... well, death-worshiping goth elves, and the Valenar are marauding Klingon-esque elves, with the city elves being the "human culture, elf biology" flavor, the original setting doesn't really contain a "elves who live in their mystic spires and are masters of arcane" ala sun elves/Eladrin. In my game, I treat elves, Shadar-kai, and eladrins as 'indistinguishable' in character, and they simply represent Valenar, Aerenal, and city elves respectively. |

| #1214Bly2729Dec 25, 2009 2:41:23 | ![]() A Very Karrnathi Christmas ‘Twas the night before Khybersef, when all through the castles, Not a creature was stirring, not even the four Emerald Claw spies, three Trust agents, two Dark Lanterns, five Eyes of Aundair, one Thuranni assassin, a Phiarlan string quartet, and forty six Karrnathi undead secretly buried outside in the garden during the war, long in capsules. The caltrops were lain by the chimney with care, Should some smart-aleck spy try a move unfair.
King Kaius sat in his throne, awake through the night. While visions of what he’d done would not leave his sight. Moranna paced in her room, Conqueror going unplayed. A disloyal warlord in the dungeon waited to be flayed.
When out in the streets there arose such a rattle, Kaius shouted for his guards, and readied for battle. To his inner sanctum the King did run and draw his knife, Soulthief and its twelve brethren glittered with unholy life.
At the gates and on the walls the racket continues, Bringing bitter memories of war and torn sinews. When what by the Host should appear in this darkest night? One human form and nine skeletal horses, aloft in flight
With a manically laughing being wielding the reins, The king’s legions all fell to their ramparts in pains. Kaius saw all of this from a magic spyhole, And he knew at once this creature so awful.
Dungeoneering check made with DC to spare, He ordered his rotwings to take to the air. For at last the red lich of Illmarrow had come to Korth, The consort of Lady Vol, to take the city for all it was worth.
As before the Dragonhawks of the Knights Arcane, The fliers of ancient Karrnath were cut in twain. Red necrosis and violet lightning crackled in the sky, And again Crownhome knew the horror causing sons to die.
Kaius called to his host of casters and shouted for spells by name, On Mordenkainen! On Tenser! On Mage Armor and Unholy Flame! Yet as if he was a third edition iron golem twas all in vain, Spells and arrows passed over Zombie Klaus like drops of rain!
The Crimson King of Winter’s Fury punched through the walls, While the Conqueror’s Host shouted glory about the halls! For naught, were their lives, histories, and veteran records spent, Residuum and men’s blood decked the castle causing servants to repent.
Klaus stood before Kaius, the first and the last of his line, Their gazes finally met, the king believed he would dine. Such a fury and rancor did ring out, horrifying me, No battle as this was seen since Episode Three.
And finally across the towers and bridges the duel did end, With the king down, no encounter powers left to spend. Great Zombie Klaus then reached deep into his cloak, He leaned in close to the King, and this is what he spoke.
“We both are bloodied, swords notched, and down to our last, Alas I am no true lich and any hope of regeneration has past.” “You my dear king are the only hope of Khorvaire for peace, At least you’re trying, unlike that frigid blonde beast.”
“I have a gift for you.” He said. And the King’s sword paused. Klaus quickly added, “It ain’t the answers to Lost.” He drew not a glaive, but a shiny red box, “This is Vol’s Phylactery! Now end this pox!”
Then he drew it close to him and sank in his teeth. Memories of a wife long lost flooded his sense of taste, His victory over the Order now required no haste.
Rather than quickly destroy it and free the world of her disease, Kaius would hold it in trust, to wait for a group of worthy PCs. He was a monster, a sidebar, a skirmisher in a book. The death of the Queen belonged not to a king but a rook.
Leaping from the parapet Klaus took to his sleigh, Waving his greatsword, he began to bray. “Merry Khybersef to all, and to all a good night!” And the readers cried, “This poem sucks the syllables aren’t right!” |

| #1226MrCelsiusJan 20, 2010 13:29:34 |
Not that we needed all that for the adventure, but once you get locked into a serious alchemy collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that worried me was the residuum. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than an artificer in the depths of a residuum binge. And I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon. |
| #1227thekeyofeJan 20, 2010 19:41:25 |
Is that "Fear and Loathing..."? It's been a while since I've seen the movie but the quote sounded familiar. |
| #1228MrCelsiusJan 21, 2010 10:29:38 | Yep, it's the narration which follows that which is under the image of Hunter S. Thompson above. |

where is this from? |
| #1234GiloFeb 23, 2010 13:24:15 |
Its from Stargate SG-1 television series ("The Ori are a group of ascended beings who use their advanced technology and knowledge of the universe to attempt to trick non-ascended humans into worshiping them as gods"). |
| #1235skrapsanFeb 24, 2010 0:53:05 | Ah thank you, I'll file it with my other reasons to start watching that show.... |
| #1236haplo81Feb 26, 2010 16:28:41 | The Quori are a group of beings from a parallel plane of existence whose religion, the Path of Inspiration Origin dominates an entire continent galaxy and whose followers are taught that outsiders worship demons. Once they become aware of Khorvaire the Milky Way, they start planning to spread their religion to this new territory. Followers of the Path of Inspiration Origin believe that the beings they worship are ascended humanoids, which is a lie the truth. They are also taught that by adhering to the principles of Inspiration Origin, they too can ascend. This is a lie, as the Quori are actually using their followers' devotion to prevent the Quor Tarai become more powerful. Priests of Inspiration Origin, known as the Chosen Priors, are imbued with power from their "gods" which allows them to perform miracles. Additionally, the high priests, known as the Inspired Doci, are is in direct communion with the Quori, and can actually be possessed by them. |

| #1249OgiwanJun 20, 2010 12:37:42 | If you're going to make fun of someone, especially a complete n00b, at least: A.) Use those spelling and grammar skills you have. You don't need the comma, and its spelled "accurate". B.) Try to figure out *why* you're making fun of someone. In this case, your homophobia is blinding you to the fact that the changeling is stabbing someone in the back with a knife and assuming his identity. Now, you may have some pretty wierd kinks, but that doesn't exactly scream homoerotic to me. C.) The least you could do is at least contribute to the thread, rather than sneering at someone. As such: ![]() |
