Artificer is looking like a lot of fun. Tha Kalashtar strikes my fancy as well. It's about time we got a +2 wisdom +2 charisma race!

I'm wondering how well those are going to mesh into non-Eberron campaigns. They're mechanically useful for niche-filling, but the fluff we know about so far is a long way from generic. Then again, I'm wondering that about a lot of Eberron stuff.

I have never had any difficulty meshing Eberron stuff into my Greyhawk campaigns any more than meshing Realms stuff. Drop or change the name is usually the extent of the requirements.

Kalashtar are a bit easier to port into the core fluff in 4e, because there's an acknowledged (though briefly) plane of dreams in the cosmology.

Quori are a race of creatures from another plane that have come to inhabit human hosts on the world of . BAM! You have a reasonable explanation that fits into any setting that has A. Other planes, B. Creatures from other planes and C. Humans.

It surely isn't any harder to work kalashtar into various settings than it is to fit magic elves from another dimension (feywild) into a setting that doesn't already have them. Actually, there are plenty of fantasy worlds out there where humans are the only "race" and you could probably fit kalashtar into those worlds far more easily than most of the DnD races.
