The Setup:
My players have been hunting a Mindflayer. They have finally tracked it to some ancient long-dead Dhakaani temple, which it has turned into its lair. After fighting their way through various aberrant minions, the PCs are now right outside the Mindflayer's room.

The room they are currently in is the burial chamber for the priests of the ancient order. There is a large, ornate, and generally un-bypassable door that leads to the final chamber where the Mindflayer is.

The idea is that the spirit of one of the old clerics is still in the chamber. Obviously, he's not fond that a servant of the Daelkyr has taken over the temple. As such, he's actually keen on the idea of the PC's killing it. The spirit has the power to unlock the chamber, but before he does so he'd like to test the players, to make sure that they understand what they're getting in to.

If they get enough questions correct, he will not only open the door but also give them some extra help (magic items and a buff).

The Problem:
What kind of questions could this ancient spirit ask the players? I'd like them to test their knowledge of the world and of Khorvaire's history, but it can't be too hard. I've been dropping the words "Xoriat" and "Daelkyr" and "Dhakaani" quite often the last few sessions, but that doesn't mean that they were paying attention.

A riddle (or several riddles) would be fine, but straight-up questions are probably good too.

Here are the ideas I have so far:

What kind of creature lies beyond the portal?
From which plane does the creature gain it's power? (Xoriat)
What does the creature serve? (Daelkyr)
Where are the Daelkyr now? (Locked underground/depths of Khyber)
What group, along with the Dhakaani, sealed the Daelkyr below the earth? (Gatekeepers)

Those are the topics I'm trying to touch on, but it's all seeming a bit bland. The advantage of this format is that it would be easy to make Knowledge checks to help the players with any question that they don't know the answer to.

well the first thing is does the spirit know every thing about the war with the Daelkyr. If he does then he can ask a lot of questions like, When did the Daelkyr distroy the Great Daelkyr, or Who was the one that leaded the armies of......what ever you want. you can ask about stuff in or on Xoriat and see if they know it becaues he want to know if they are not loyal to the Daelkyr

In these kinds of situations I tend to mix things up a bit. After the spirit has asked deep question after question I would throw in something of the "What's your favorite color?" variety just for fun.

I tend to ask general and probably vague questions like "What does Xoriat possess and give, and may lead to destruction of all?" And the answer will be corruption, but anything close to that should count as a success.

If the spirit's goal is to see if the PCs are with the mindflayer/daelkyr, question on the PCs' background and deeds could be wise.

Other possible questions could be precise-hard question and the PCs need to answer false to get the help of the spirit, prooving in this way they are not with the mindflayer/daelkyr. If they would answer true, they would have to engage with the spirit to show they are not the servants of the mindflayer/daelkyr. This engagement could be a combat or a diplomacy check.

A cool thing would be that the mindflayer is casting spells from his chamber to change the PCs answers and making the spirit attack them.
