Eladrin and Elves - Eberron 4e

So, I have a very general question: what place do eladrin have in Eberron?

I was guessing that the elves of Aerenal would largely become eladrin, while the Tairnadal (and, therefore, the Valenar elves) would be the elves...and the "Khorvaire elves" would probably be a split between the two....

But, re-reading the "Dolurrh's Dawn" article, I see that the bloodline of Vol founder, as well as the Elorenthi line appear to be elves, and there isn't a single mention of eladrin.

Anyone have any ideas? Or anyone with their ear to the ground know what direction Eberron's going on this?

It is in an earlier post somewhere but i seem to recall someone mentioning a connection with the Faerie Plane , Thelanis.

It would seem to make sense that some have crossed over onto Eberron itself and that is where they have "suddenly" appeared from.

The most likely solution, and the one I have used briefly in the Grand History of Eberron while awaiting the 4E campaign setting, is to make Thelanis and the Feywild the same plane, with the eladrin being the elven race that remained behind in the Feywild when the elves crossed into Eberron on the continent of Xen'drik during the Age of Giants. The elves were subsequently enslaved and experimented upon by their titan overlords, creating the drow, and then fled after the devastation of Xen'drik to found Aerenal and then go on to migrate to Khorvaire and so on. The eladrin probably crossed over now and again to Eberron over the millennia, and while the elves recognized them as their more fey cousins from the Feywild of Thelanis, outsiders would have seen little difference. Now, in 4E, I would imagine that the planar boundaries between Thelanis and Eberron are weakening, perhaps with the end of the Age of the Dragon Above (se the Stormdragon novel). This weakening is particularly pronounced in the Eldeen Reaches, most likely, and some eladrin city-states--maybe Mithredain--have begun to slip across the line...;)

I asked that question in a thread right below this one (Seminar: Secrets of Eberron) and was pointed to this article by a helpful poster:

Straight for the Hellcow's mouth so to speak!

there have been like 3 epic threads on this subject... and its split 50/50 on where to change some elfs to Eladrin or just add Eladrin...

I wont go into too many points about it but to say they aren't changing any elves to Eladrin on a "nation or cultural" scale... some people who were elf might become eladrin if it fits them better but nothing on a large scale blanket change...

Montonius1, that is an ecellent theory and i have read a quote from Keith Baker that seem to support it. Personally i think thats the best approach and really like the idea.

Thank you all for your responses/input--especially Boulis...that article from KB was...well, informative at the very least....

I apologize if the topic has already been brought up...I only occasionally frequent the boards these days....

Thanks again!
