My characters are going to be finding a crashed elemental airship. I was thinking that they could either buy the pieces of the ship they need, or find them and get them for free or a major discount. These are the parts they need:

-A new binding strut

-Bits of soarwood for the decks (About a 6 square by 5 square section missing)

-Bits of the Khybershard matrix (About 30% is missing)

-Bloodstone control matrix

-Half of the port fin

-Entire starboard fin

-Re-enchanting of some stuff (Needing to renew 50-60% of the enchantments)

-Two ballista

How much would each of that cost, or how much material would it need? (Aka, 5 lbs of Khybershards)

I am inclined to say, "as much as is necessary to drive the plot", since I doubt you will find a canon answer - particularly if you are running it in 4e, which I infer from one of your recent comments.

If it is a 4e campaign, I would be inclined to tie the value to the cash treasure parcels you think the party would be earning during whatever events you have planned for them to get the parts.

I did something simmilar recently. And gave the players three options.

1. Build it in secret, go through all the hassle of buying all the stuff under the radar, and fly it of gridd.

2. Turn it in to house Lyrandar, get a fat reward.

3. Report it to Lyrandar, claim it as yours pay Lyrandar a yearly fee, and a small percentage of your proffits. But gain access to their drydocks and airship towers etc.

They chose option 3. I plan on trying to crash the ship. I might not succeed, but I will lay down hurt on the ship to hit the players where it hurts.
