So to sett the tone and get the thing rolling, I figured I should hava a short start up adventure for when we are done rolling up characters etc. This should serve two purposes. One sett the mood of the adventure (going for the pulp with dashes of horror and noir). Two give the players a few contacts and some hooks to follow up on if they wish. The adventure will begin aboard the Lightning rail, (it alows me to controll the pacing without rialroading them ). Here the PC's will witnes an assasination attempt at the prince of New Cyre. But what else could i do? What is there that might spur the spirit of adventure and lust for exploration in these players of mine? Do you have any sugestions?PS: I plan on using the Lord of Blades, Dreaming Dark, Daelkyr and Emerald Claw quite much. |

I am not really familiar with Eberron, but could your assassins cause the rail to derail? This might be cheesey though. If there is a group doing the assassination, some of them take out some cars elementals, or maybe the stones that make the up the rail itself. With this you could put your team where ever on Khorvaire you wanted really. Then they could adventure after the assassins make their escape. |

But A section of the assassins trying to destroy the elemental ring and thus derail the entire thing sounds like a good idea as well. Then a different group of asssasins can use the commotion to slip past the guards and suddenly reveal themselves just as the PC's return. Or a bit before so they have to rush back and defend the Prince. See I like this idea. |

Not sure that its necessarily an Epic-level theme tho... Would be fun to have multiple factions all trying to take out the Prince. |
