| #1rageofthemodrons101Apr 15, 2008 21:58:25 | Note: This thread will also accept monsters (far out ones please). Anyone can post their own NPC's. Background: Lurjop Ghathron is of a lost tribe of halflings. When a wandering truenamer who had been badly injured after exploring a ruin not far from the settlement came to the tribe, he was cured and nurtured back to health. Lurjop, who had been an adolescent, was assigned to take care of the truenamer while he was recovering. During this time, the truenamer showed his power of altering the world around him with a few words. Amazed, Lurjop immediately wanted to learn the art of truenaming. The truenamer taught Lurjop the few things he could before he left Lurjop's tribe. With his combat experience and minor knowledge of truenaming, Lurjop set out for Gatherhold for adventure. He had a short adventuring career, though when he returned to find his village, they had mysteriously disappeared. Lurjop has wandered around Khorvaire to find his village at all costs. He stole from bakeries and fruit stalls, just trying to support himself. Once, however, while he was choosing whether to sneak a bread roll or a ham, he looked across at a man who had conjured strange creatures with the wave of his hand. Curious, he asked the fellow what he just done. The man said hat he had used Shaping and "ectoplasm" to create anything he wanted. Mrê then went to the Morgrave Library and searched for the things the man had been talking about. Barely literate, he pulled out an old book on psionics and read the chapter on Shaping. Amazed at the diagrams and the words he was able to read, he was determined immediately to find a shaper within Sharn. He found a Kalashtar named Nokashtai who was a shaper. She soon taught him to master the arts of Shaping. Nokashtai found that Mrê was naturally psionic. She also taught him how to read and speaking different languages. Late one night, an assassin of the Dreaming Dark killed Nokashtai in her sleep. Mrê came in as the assassin fled. Seeing the symbol of the Dreaming Dark on Nokashtai's body, Mrê vowed to find and challenge that assassin. Mrê is still in Sharn, studying shaping for the day he will need it. As a boy, he would enjoy collecting trinkets he found while others were off mining. Soon, he would tell the difference between two different kinds and suddenly amassed an entire collection where he would spend hours sorting out and observing them. With high ambitions, he set out for Krona Peak, the dwarf capital, to become the best treasure collector ever. He worked in a dwarf's magic item shop as a janitor, but gradually learned about entire cultures by reading some of the ancient texts in the shop. Entranced by the paintings of cities made from gold, gem-laden idols and such, he quit the shop to start one of his own. Ever since, he has remained in Krona Peak to run a moderately successful shop with adventurers coming back from as far away places as Xen'drik and the ruins of Sarlona. He always enjoys analyzing new and unusual items. | #2GurvApr 16, 2008 13:36:09 | Will work on it later. Work on a background. So far, the only thing that even suggests that this is an Eberron character is the use of the Talenta Tangat. Just posting stats isn't going to get you much input. Especially if you don't even get the AC right. |
| #3rageofthemodrons101Apr 16, 2008 19:45:29 | Thank you. I knew something wasn't right about his AC. |
| #4BlackDragon71425Apr 16, 2008 21:42:11 | Not to be rude or anything, because your NPC's are pretty interesting, but what exactly is the point of this thread? I'm assuming its making wierd NPC's, cuz a Truenamer Barbarian is pretty strange. Just wondering, cuz I'd like to submit some. |
| #5rageofthemodrons101Apr 17, 2008 19:33:22 | Just to help DM's out there when they need something totally strange for their campaigns. And that means you can submit anything you have that is unordinary. All I require is that they be good and unusual. You can now also submit monsters too. |
