I'm not sure I understand the question so are you looking for reasons to go to frostfell that don't involve a dragon living there?

Plain ol' exploration and trying to beat Lord Boroman ir'Dayne's achievements (the only person to have successfully made it back from Frotfell I think), bring back specimens, make detailed records of the continent. Being one of the first people to actually set foot on Frostfell should be enough motivation.

If you have a dwarf in your party they could be trying to find the origin and ancient history of the race. Their motivation could be academic or personal but finding Those Who Stayed Behind sounds like an interesting quest.

Isn't there a Rajah (one with an arch-devil's name - Levistus?) bound somewhere in the Frostfell? Race against time to stop rakshasha's from completing a ritual that either taps the energy of the rajah or frees it completely. Although I seem to remember there being an actual settlement of some size where the rajah is bound so this might not be as good an idea as I thought...

MONSTERS. There'll be a ton of monsters there that your party hasn't encountered. Maybe they need the frozen blood of such and such a monster to complete an eldritch machine.

I'm sure others will contribute but whatever you do the book Frostburn is going to be your best friend.
All the best with the idea

My [post=16266251]Lost City of Sharvalu[/post] XDMC entry wasn't designed with Eberron in mind but it could probably work. It would no longer be a famous lost city. Instead it would be an ancient city that was recently discovered by someone.

That idea made me think of a great adventure. Someone sells the PCs a map to a fabled city in the frostfell. Supposedly, it is in the center of a great green land that shouldn't be able to survive there. The people of the city are very spiritual and must have learned some great magic in order to keep the cold at bay away from their lands.

The idea would be related to the fabled Shangri-La and further study about that could give a lot of good ideas to a DM.

So what i have is, there was a civilization in Frostfell that built their city in the center of a manifest zone to Risian (some say this changed them. Their blood started to crystallize, eye started to glow blue-white, the ability to manipulation ice and water with out training, and advanced minds) They gather tomes and artifacts form the nations around the would (giants, ocrs humans and even dragons) in a quest to have a complete knowledge of the world and it's civilizations. There crowning achievement is the Scepter of Itharn, which means the eternal winter. The city fell in 200 YK when it was destroyed by an unknown forces. The city was totally destroyed with only the wall left stalling and the underground grand library with the all there book, artifact and the Scepter of Itharn left in it.

What do you guys think.

That sounds like a cool adventure hook. Any ideas on how you are going to get your players interested in it or how they will find out about it?

In an another adventure you could have them find an almost completely rotted diary written in an older dialect from an earlier time in Khorvaire. The diary could contain an account of its owner meeting this "now dead" race and visiting their city. This might spark the interest of the players.
