Philological wonking aside, the mention of clan names is exceedingly useful. New factions to toy with!

I will say, I found the aversion to PDA an unusual take for goblins. Personally, I had always envisioned goblinoids as lacking any sense of "personal space," and tending to crowd, jostle, and close-talk.

Aug 01, 2008 11:00:18 I loved the appendixes and cultural sayings, and tidbits from Don in the Dragon Below (which I started reading again last night after I saw this article... now if I can only figure out where I put book 3). I'm ecstatic to see that he'll be delving further into goblinoid culture.

I'l admit I'm a little worried about Geth starring again. I mean I like Geth, but Eberron so far, hasn't had recurring novel heroes (beyond the trilogies they appear in). I hoped that Eberron would never have that feeling of playing around novel NPCs, not saying this will, but its a possible step in that direction. Regardless I'm really looking forward to the novel, loved the article.

I'm not too worried about Geth appearing, though I'm wondering if in-novel we'll see advancement of the metaplot within the Geth continuity.

(That is, not effecting anything we see in the game books themselves.)

There is a loose continuity, though direct crossovers are rare between the authors they do often reference each others work and minor characters that have nothing to do with any sourcebook often find their way into each others work. The young Goblin Lass from Keith's City of Towers found her way into Don's Killing Song, The Silent Hand from Orb of Xoriat found its way into Bound by Iron, Wren from The Night of Long Shadows was mentioned in The Darkwood Mask.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that this story of Geth actually takes place a bit before the adventures form teh Killing song. Addressing the whole coninuity thing in eberron.

I've really only read Don's and Kieth's and Jeff's books so I wouldn't of caught most of them. Still as long as major events and characters do not crossover it should have no effect on the actual continuity.
