I had an idea recently, one I myself find imaginative. While my father was playing HL2 for the 8th time, I thought that perhaps the current goings-on in the HL2 universe might be a very interesting plot-line for an Eberron campaign.
I've been in the process of making some of the creatures, such as striders and gunships, and have some ideas for things like combine soldiers of whatever level of power they need to be.

What I'd like from you, the people, are opinions on this idea and if you like it enough(or maybe if you don't...?) you could give me ideas, stats(3.5 only), or whatever you might have to contribute, such as the weapons and stats for things you have made or come across, and even locations that might be suiting for the locations in the game.

You might want to elaborate on what you plan to cross over. You're not really being specific enough. Do you just want to add striders and gunships to Eberron's repetoire? Because that sounds a bit... not good.... unless you're converting them to Eberron-esque versions, ala powered by elementals and magic.

I was figuring it would parallel the plot of the game a great deal, with aliens from some distant plane or planet invading and taking over. I was figuring the weaponry and whatnot would be a combination of magic and just technology.
And yeah, each strider and gunship would be a bio-engineered construct with a bound elemental inside it.

There's really not much work needed to combine HL2 with Eberron. most of the groundwork is already there.

Who are the aliens? The Quori. Who are the Combine? The Inspired vessels. As for the striders, gunships and such, look to what's already in the books. What do the monoliths do in your campaign? Perhaps the Inspired have the equivalent of elemental airships, but powered by quori spirits and powered by psionics? Those are a few examples.

And perhaps there's a Breen lurking in there somewhere. The ECS says the Quori eventually found a way to get here, like the Kalashtar did. It leaves how they managed that up to you.

On a side note, the Quori in their natural form might even look like the brain thing that talks to Breen. At least, I think it was a brain thing.

I actually hadn't thought of that before. What I had sitting in the back of my head is that the alien's would originate from Xoriat or somesuch, but I was a little iffy on it because they're not dominators, they're invokers of madness. The Quori work out all too well, maybe it could be that they punched a hole in the planar distance between here and there and have taken over...

This could make a very cool adventure, that all stems from the Inspired completing the final monolith they need to bring the quori to Eberron. Then, some of the people, including the remaining kalashtar (who could be placeholders for the vortigaunts) decide to fight back.

One idea I had was to make some of the advanced technology of the game have a psionic equivalent. Say the pulse rifles can be charged with little volatile psionic crystals that are focused out the front of a crossbow-like weapon, or the gravity gun could be a modified telekinesis dorge fitted inside an adamantine and crystal containment device, or what have you.
