| #1namelesscecilJul 29, 2009 8:26:19 | I'm looking for ideas, advice, brainstorming, etc, about running a really iconic, high energy Sharn fight. Specifically, the terrain. What about the terrain of Sharn makes for a cool fight? Is it jumping from walkway to walkway, stealing a skycoach, etc? What would you like to see, or what would you like to run? I've attempted these types of fights before and they've had a tendancy to fall flat. Basically, I want a fight (or series of fights) that evokes the same kind of energy as on the cover of the Sharn: City of Towers book. Since I know someone'll ask - my upper paragon PCs are looking for a thief who has some important information. They need to get to her before the fey get to her - and she's running. I was thinking of her ducking through "alleyways", leaping down from walkways, sliding down towers, etc, while the group and the fey harry her escape and fight with each other. This plays out great in my head, but I was wondering about implementation - anyone wanna help me brainstorm through this? Ideas, advice, comments? Thanks in advance, I appreciate it. |

Look at the Map Gallery for Dungeon 168 and print the Docking Tower map. Maybe your Thief could be running towards the Docks to espace clandestinely on an Airship. Only give the Soarsled to your PC when they aren't on board and need to catch the leaving ship. Here's a thread where you have 3 great Eberron encounters involving skill chalenges. The first one is in a falling tower, easily adaptable as a falling airship, or keep it as a falling tower. Aside from the Cover of S:CoT, what are you looking for? Who are the PCs? What monsters/villain npc do you need aside from the fey? What would be memorable? Rekko |

Why worry about the Sharn Skywatch when you can vanish into the thick villany in Khyber's Gate or even the City of the Dead. Would make a fun chase encounter... if they run into the wrong group of people, the players could find themselves in combat while the fugitive gets away. |

Dodging carts, overturning merchant stalls, etc. Then, take advantage of the urban nature of Sharn, and start to throw in multiple different areas to run through. An outdoor cafe. An impromptu hzrak game. Whatever. Eventually, then, the thief (and the PCs) get on a soarsled or skyskif or whatever, and they start dodging towers while chasing. |
