| #1domenicNov 01, 2008 13:38:14 | I'm starting a 4E Eberron game today, and it'd be nice to before the next session (i.e. within a week) be able to point interested players to a guide-to-Eberron. I used to have a nice one, but then it got all obsoleted in a few ways. And it feels like too much of a task to do on my own, so I thought I'd turn to you guys for help .Here's the old guide: http://www.domenicdenicola.com/ForFun/DungeonsAndDragons/Eberron/ If anyone has specific new text or can spot smaller easy-to-miss things, I'd love some help there. Even if it's not 3.5 -> 4E related, that's good too. Some sample things I need: * Races: currently compares 3.5 racial stereotypes to Eberron; these stereotypes are no longer really accurate. Also, Player's Handbook vs. ECS vs. "other" is now all messed up. * Elves vs. eladrin: Baker had a post about this somewhere; how to best integrate it into existing text? * Does the Religion section need any updating in terms of 4E clerics, etc.? * Cosmology: how to integrate Shadowfell/Astral Sea/etc.? * Which sections need a "this doesn't exist in 4E yet; talk to me and maybe we can work out some house rules?" I can think of kalashtar/psionics and dragonmarks... Thanks all ![]() |

| #3domenicNov 01, 2008 15:39:16 | can't access it. Argh, fixed. You'd think when you click "Synchronize to Server" (and then walk away from the computer) it might actually do that, instead of pausing to ask you "are you sure?" |
| #4Montonius1Nov 01, 2008 15:40:39 | I suggest you give every player a copy of the Grand History of Eberron. It is already converted to 4E and has pretty much every piece of lore that a new player could need. Download it for free here and I'm sure it will be helpful. You have my permission to take any parts of it you want and integrate them whole-cloth into your document. That will save you a great deal of time and effort. http://uploadingit.com/browse/Montonius/177073 |
| #5skrap-sanNov 02, 2008 1:25:57 | I suggest you give every player a copy of the Grand History of Eberron. I love the GHoE i really do, it invaluable to me, but I have always wondered how smart it is to hand out too much info too you players. My own lack of this restriction have robbed me of the chance to surprise some of my players with a great deal of "secrets." I'm just saying. But there used too be a Players guide too Eberron Power point presentation flying around on these boards, but I cant seem to find it right now. |
