Sep 11, 2008 7:40:16 I was thinking that there might be humans living in Drooam. They might considered a slave-race of sorts but I was thinking how there might be a decent human population living there just to serve the Hags wishes. They could serve as diplomats to thew 5 Nations. When I saw the Warlock Knights of FR I thought that there might be a group of nasty humans so evil that they could carve out a small domain in Droaam with the Hags permission. They serve Droaams interests and frequently go on missions outside of Droaams borders incognito.

Sep 11, 2008 8:23:13 I was thinking there might be humans left over in Droaam as well. It's not impossible-- certainly there's room for them in more urban places like Graywall and Vralkek. And you raise a good point about serving the Hags-- they're charismatic (and scary) enough to inspire cultish devotees amongst humans, I'd wager. Not exactly an enviable position, though-- the monsters of Droaam probably retain their prejudice, and the rest of the Five Nations likely views them as traitors.

Certainly. They're included in the Droaam population block of the ECS. Aside from the ideas mentioned, you've got a number of obvious categories: humans descended from Sarlonan emigrees (like those who settled the Shadow Marches), who have been in the region for over a thousand years and have been integrated into the monstrous cultures; humans attached to House Tharashk, which has significant influence in Droaam; and deserters and bandits who have taken sanctuary in Droaam, which is after all outside of the Treaty of Thronehold. Those falling into this latter category would have to be tough enough to hold their own in the nation of monsters, but there's no reason they can't find a place in it, provided they don't pose a threat to the Daughters.

Sep 13, 2008 6:20:16 That is why I like the Warlock Knights of the FR setting. As a DM I saw their stat blocks and concept and wanted to palce them in EB somewhere. To me Droaam seems like decent place for them. They are tough enough to serve the Daughters but know their place. Anyone who is an outcast can find safe refuge there as long as they obey the Knights.

I also have an idea for a Necropolis governed by undead that exists in Droaam but that is for another thread. ;)
