Apr 17, 2009 8:49:09 i'm DM'ing a 3.5 eberron game with for a few of my friends and as an in joke i was going to add a patron company that was basically the planet express crew for futurama (my group i think will get a kick out of it) and i was thinking about what classes they would be i got Bender as a warforged rogue with mithril body and Hermes as an expert but after that i have run into questions. See i think i would have Farnsworth as a human artificer with the mark of making who had left the house do to political differences with cannith house east in korth. Now he has taken his money and used it to fund his research and a small delivery service to fund his future projects. on that note though i can't decide for one what level of the mark he should have or if he should have any prestige class. also i'm having problems deciding whether Leela would be a monk or a fighter, and what race could zoidberg be (the closest thing i can think of is a mind flayer but i don't know how that could walk around Korth undeterred or a yurian) and what class fry would be. Now i know that this is a silly question but I'm hoping you guys can give me a hand and have some fun with this

Apr 17, 2009 12:52:56 lol yeah though i had a friend suggest to give him heroic spirit since even though he is not nearly as capable as the rest of the team he seems to always get lucky and survive it. now what race/class would zoidberg be he is the one i''m having the hardest one to place i can see yurian (FF) but i can't think of a class where he would fit as a doctor but be wholly incompetent (maybe an adept?)

Apr 17, 2009 14:32:47 Just a question to your question. Is your group going to want to kill these characters? Are you wanting to use them in a fight against the PC's? If you answer 'No' to either of those, why would you even need to bother with stats? Some basic info sure, but do you really need to know the classes for each of these characters?

Apr 17, 2009 15:07:52 umm as far as i know no they wouldn't really be fighting them but with PC's sometimes you never know it could happen if actions lead that way, but more or less it is for mine, theirs, and anyone who would like to helps amusement you never know someone else might find it fun to take on mad artificer based on Professor Farnsworth

You could say Leela was left at a temple to Boldrei as a baby and raised by monks or something. (With a note written in Quori or something.)

Zoidberg you could try as a Daelkyr half-blood or mutated victim of the mourning.

Alternatively, you could establish with your players the futrama characters and then have a carcass crab bust through the wall, to be announced as the doctor.

Apr 17, 2009 21:53:57 lol zoidberg as a dealkyr half blood would let him be a playable race but i don't think it's weird enough for zoidberg. now i like the stuff for Leela and now that i think about it a dealkyr half-blood would make more sense for her since she thinks she hass alien origin or maybe a human with one of the abberant feats.

For instance, the planet express ship would most likely be an airship correct? So, that means Leela would have to have a the mark of storms or be a member of lyrander correct? That makes her an half-elf that only has one eye - either from deformity, or lost in battle.

Why not make zoidberg just zoidberg. Why does he have to be a player race at all? Like Yoda in Star Wars, he's there, but you can't play his race. Make zoidberg something like that. Nobody knows what he is.

If you follow the show exactly, you will wind up getting characters that draw yo out of Eberron. Now, if that is what your game is like, that's fine, but I think it is better to give the Futurama characters an Eberron feel, rather than just plunking them down in the setting. That of course, requires some concessions when it comes to writing out the characters.

Only thing that comes to mind is bard(what with his playing the holophonor in the series). For humor, make it clear that no one likes to hear him play. Sure, his bardic music ability works, but only insofar as it motivates the crew to do it's job("the faster we're done, the sooner he'll stop playing!").

Also, given the battle-worthiness of the 3rd edition bard... Yeah... It's Fry alright.

Oh and remember that Fry is immune to all mind reading powers, spells and abilities. The Doppelganger is going to be frustrated when he fails to sift through the delivery boys thoughts ;) .

Or an awakened Chuul, that works too. But the Carcass Crab is just funnier.

Apr 20, 2009 18:24:36 lol i love the idea of an awakened Chuul adept that would be hysterical i would have said something sooner my cpu went to **** for 2 days but anyway. as for leela being half elf could totally work have her have the abberation blood feat from lords of madness and the mark of storms, and as for people questioning the Yurian idea for him i figured they would be a species that lives up along the northern coast of karrnath and into the lhazaar principalities and he was picked up by farnsworth there and have him as an adept and maybe later have him pick up the fleshwarper prestige from lords of madness to represent how zoidberg usually sow people back together but doesn't really know exactly what goes where, also it gives credence to him asking if he can give fry or the pc's an ink bladder to help them escape their enemies (LOM pg. 215). Also the Zap d' Lyander is hysterical. Now i was picturing Mom as a house Cannith Dragonmark heir/Artificer she makes most of her money selling Warforged components and is an important figurehead in The Twelve.

Apr 21, 2009 0:12:02 hmm could work though i was looking at him as a bureaucrat for in Karrnath reporting to Regent Morana or others that work for her and the crown over Farnsworth's creation's and such since he creates all sorts of new items and "doomsday" type device's but lacks the protection that house Cannith would have provided (Left when he had a difference of opinion with his boss Mom) so he is watched over by the Karrnathi government in exchange for getting some of his stuff in the process.
