| #1_radagast__dupOct 09, 2008 17:39:25 | Where are the juiciest, enlightening, and elaborate bits about the Daelkyr of Eberron located?? I'm looking to you Eberron scholars to help me out. I own every book and I have access to the internet and most Eberron Dragon and Dungeon articles. You just need to point me in the right direction. In addition, if anyone wants to give me a primer of their own in this thread, or if there is already a thread on such a topic, feel free to pour out your knowledge. I'll soak it up. Thanks in advance! |

Only those couple are actually sealed like the Rajahs. Given that they're immortal, they aren't concerned about leaving just yet either. Their servants like Mind Flayers are a little more impatient though. The exact numbers of Daelkyr range from just a few to many of them depending on the sourcebook. Most people guess 13 with 1 sealed (Baker's dozen rule). If you're using 3.5, you should note the one in the ECS is considered a "typical" Daelkyr, others are much stronger. Each of the Daelkyr also have a "specialty". One mentioned in an online article was the master of stone, and roamed around in a giant construct. Another, if I remember correctly, is a specialist with eyes. |

What it says for Daelkyr is basically stats for Half-Daelkyr and more symbiots. As well as a Husk of Many Worlds, the thing that actually changed creatures and warps them. |
| #6anarythOct 14, 2008 20:06:22 | I'm reaching, as I don't have all my sources with me but, roughly from memory: Dyrrn the Corruptor: Unless I'm horribly mistaken, Dyrrn is one of the worst of a bad bunch- maybe the worst still left in Eberron. Currently sealed beneath the Eldeen Reaches. Theorized as being the creator of dolgaunts and dolgrims. Historically, I think Dyrrn also led the final assault on the Dhakaani fortress whose ruins are on the site of present day Greywall. Belashyrra: The "Lord of Eyes". Theorized creator of beholders and their kin. Legends say his sanctum sanctorum is a chamber filled with eyes, through which he may view events across Khorvaire through the eyes of others/servants. Orlassk: The "Lord of Stone". Theorized creator of cocktrices, basilisks, etc. (creatures that can transmute flesh to stone). Many claim he is also the creator of Medusae and, indeed, historical accounts and frescoes/murals from the Dhakaani/Daelkyr War depict medusae as among his soldiers (the medusae of Droaam scoff at this). Said to lair in an enormous, animate stone fortress (having the shape of a gargoyle) that roams the depths of Khyber. I believe this was also under the Eldeen Reaches or the Shadow Marches. I guess, however, it could conceivably be wherever you need it to be. "The Stained One": Big entry on this Daelkyr in Magic of Eberron. Lairs under the Shadow Marches. As I said, I'm totally spitballing here. Just trying to help. If anyone has the books handy, correct me at will. |
