| #1ganryuFeb 06, 2009 19:06:06 | Hi I've been recently put in charge of a DnD campaign run in the world of Eberron. The problem is I haven't had enough time (thanks to studies mainly) to read anything from the campaign setting in depth. The previous session, which was also my first time DMing for the DnD system was thus also my first session with Eberron. I have a rough idea of the general history of the world, and I can picture before my eyes roughly what it's supposed to look like... The problem here is that the next session is on this sunday and I need one minor issue resolved. I've been running the game so far in a very non-descript foresty setting. I picture something akin to a general north european countryside setting. The players have all had very little exposure to the actual world outside of one dungeon and some part of a forest they had to travel through to reach this dungeon. As I said before, I'm not too familiar with the Eberron geography and the players will soon run into civilization and that will probably happen in the next two sessions. Currently they've stayed at an inn somewhere out in the forest, left into the forest and encountered a dungeon within which there was a teleportation trap that teleported them onto an island somewhere quite far away from the forest but not too far away. The island is small and pretty much not map-worthy. And my question thus remains: Where on the continent of Khorvaire could this be? I expect the island and the dungeon/inn be relatively close and the island is not too far from land. I'd expect at most one day's travel by foot to reach the inn from the closest beach near the island. |

If you are lookig for a location you could place it in the Whispering Wood, in the country of Aundair. Its right on the coast & even though officially their is no island, a small enough island would not necessarily appear on any maps. Hope that helps, without further details its the best i can do. |

You mention that it had northern european feel to it and that certainly is how the Eldeen always feels to me. Hope that helps. Regards... |

With all the warring that's been going on I don't see how it could just be neutral, but the name sounds very "No this is not a country"-ish |

The inhabitants of the Eldeen Reaches splintered from Aundair during the war, they are currently under the protection and guidance of druids. Though most of the country is uncultivated forests. |
