Anywhere to look other than the ECS and the Eberron wiki for info on the Icetop Mountains? I am about ready to run a small adventure there and wanted to brush up on my knowledge of the area.

Long story short;
I don't plan on messing with Lake Dark (at least yet)
I am finishing up Keep on the Shadowfell placed near-ish to Lakeside
The mission will be to get some documents from a very small mining camp/village

What I need;
The kinds of beings (both humanoid and non-humanoid) that would be present at said camp [maybe boars as guard animals?]
The material being mined (Iron like the Ironroot Mountains?)
Maybe some names/maps of specifics (although I can make this up)
Any other info deemed necessary

Here is the handout that I will be using, although still in a fairly rough form:
Party Handout

I am actually using the starting location map. Thanks for that. Any suggestions on the inhabitants of the village that I have? Mainly Orcs/Humans/Dwarves/some other race/etc?

The town's folk look human, but they are actually Vampires.
The only non-undead person in town is the Inn's wench - a girl named Buffy and she is a secret a member of the Red Watch.

Sent.

That sounds rather cliche. Also, Vampires are little too powerful for my group of level 4 PCs.

As of now, I am thinking that the settlement will be a pretty even mix of dwarves and humans with some dire boars used for both protection from creatures and for labor. Thoughts?

Ive not got "Adventurers Vault" yet but im told there are several riding beasts in there - perhaps Dire Boars are one of them ? Would make for an interesting alternative.

Dire Boars are already mounts. Their stats are in the MM. The Adventurer's Vault has other creatures, but none seem to fit the cold mountain landscape. I was actually thinking that the dwarves could ride the boars.

Ahh ok didnt check before i typed the reply. Im going to have to try and get hold of Adventurers Vault this weekend although no local rp store anymore does restrict my options somewhat.

If you move Ashtol location a bit into the mountains you can claim that the roads to the town get blocked by the snow - which makes the airship the only way in and out at this time of the year.

Also consider a dragonborn or mixed human/dragonborn community too (white scales dragonborns that seem to like the harsh cold weather).

I like the Dragonborn concept. I am thinking that I like the idea of the group going in on foot...at least the last little bit. The roads will be blocked and there will be a blizzard on the way in. This way they know that they won't have to worry about any carvans or travelers getting in the way. I also will not have to mess with the idea of the airship being spotted.

I think that the community will be nicely done as a hodge-podge of various races that get paid fairly well for crappy work and so there is a high turn-around rate. I am thinking that one encounter that I will use is:

Encounter Level Difficulty: Standard (950 XP)
4 PCs
Party Level 5

3 Human Rabble
1 Dwarf Hammerer (advanced to lvl6)
1 Dire Boar
1 Dwarf Bolter
1 Dragonborn Soldier
