| #1drag0nulApr 28, 2010 6:19:34 | Hi, One of my players jsut brought this up during the last session. Is there anything in the books stating whether a character can/can't have more than a single dragonmark? |

If two different Dragonmarked heirs had a child, if anything, they would more than likely manifest an aberrant Dragonmark. The 3.5 Eberron book entitled "Dragonmarked" has an explanation on page 156. |

Page 86 of the 4E Eberron Player's Guide states: "Some feats in this section have the “[Dragonmark]” expression. These feats are associated with Eberron’s dragonmarks. A character can have only one such dragonmarked feat." Within 4E, the idea of Dragonmarks being tied to race and bloodline is essentially part of the Eberron Campaign Setting; the racial restriction was removed because if you're playing in a homebrew world or in Faerun and decide to add dragonmarks, the houses may not exist. Page 17 of the 4E ECG and page 86 of the EPG discuss the continued role of race and bloodline in connection to dragonmarks within the Eberron setting. However, the restriction on a single dragonmark per character is a fundamental rule that applies across settings. With that said, rules were made to be broken. If you LIKE the idea of a PC with multiple dragonmarks, it could be a fascinating story. What does it mean? What happens if he develops them all? But if you DON'T like it, the rules are on your side: one dragonmark per character. |
