On the one hand it means I could start my campaign a whole month sooner. On the other hand I don't own the 3.5 ECG so I wouldn't be privy to very much DM-only information. On the third hand the ECG is likely to only provide a small amount of extra information then the EPG if the Forgotten Realms books are any indication. So I wouldn't really be missing out on very much DM-only information, and certainly nothing that is going to absolutely ruin the campaign. So what do others think? Good idea? Bad idea? Don't care? |

From my perspective, it means I can get access to player content (artificer class, dragonmarks) as soon as possible. The DM content (monsters, NPCs etc.) is good to have, but I can homebrew that stuff easier. It doesn't worry me that there isn't as detailed fluff in the EPG, I already have all the 3.5 sourcebooks anyway. From the perspective of someone who hasn't played Eberron before, I think this way round is more likely to attract new players. People will probably buy the EPG for the artificer, races and possibly dragonmarks. If the ECG comes out afterwards, the EPG will probably hold their attention long enough that the upcoming release and excerpts leading up to it might generate more excitement in the up coming product. In other words, the EPG will serve better as a taste of Eberron before the main main, rather than as a lone desert when you haven't bought a main course. Does that make sense? |

Or maybe aplayer will go out and buy EPG and then he'll see all this cool stuff and go say to his DM: "DM, DM, look at this, look at this", and then the DM will say: "Sure, player.*tussels hair*":P . And then he actualy will look at it and then he'll buy ECG and start an Eberron based game. I call it, "Recipe for an Eberron boom." Now all I have to do is find a way to put it to affect. ![]() |

Players who do not play in the setting may/will buy the book since it has crunch in it that no other books has (new races, classes ect). Perhaps they may try and pick up the campaign book afterwards also. For me it is great because the PCs in my game now have access to player stuff earlier than expected. |
