| #1Khan_the_DestroyerOct 17, 2014 18:33:45 | In fleshing out the story for a character that is quite involved in the planes of Eberron, I got wondering... do any of you use Inevitables in your games? And if so, how? In thinking if the creatures existed in Eberron or not (and I do think they've been mentioned in Eberron source material, but I can't think of where off the top of my head), I started thinking about some of the major plot hooks in the campaign. |
| #2HellcowOct 17, 2014 22:18:52 | I'm fairly sure that Stormreach mentions that Maruts are one reason House Jorasco is very careful about raising the dead - as they've lost a few healing houses to Marut attacks. The idea as presented there is essentially that it's OK to bring someone back if their destiny is unfinished, but if their role is done you can get in trouble and end up with maruts... thus, Jorasco generally performs an Augury before proceeding with any resurrection, and if the augury comes up negative they turn down the job. This explains why Erandis has gotten away with it for thousands of years but certain other important people haven't been resurrected. Erandis' story isn't over yet; Jarot's, on the other hand, is.
But that's just one idea and even there I believe Maruts are the only ones mentioned. |

| #4cowleymenOct 21, 2014 3:45:57 | The soul returning to mortal realm is interesting for me. You could say that they are basicly a ghost until they can find a body to inhabit. Perhaps a vessel could be built for the soul, akin to a warforged's or golem's body. Their soul could simple become material as soon as they enter into this plane, if their original body is decayed. Really its up to how the story of said ressurection would run |
