| #1flaviobonanomeAug 12, 2010 12:07:11 | Hey guys! Is there any published material about "Dragon Blood" and other drugs in 4th edition Eberron? If it's not, anyone has adapted it somehow? I use to DM a 3.5 campaing wich one of the characters was a Orien addicted, and was great fun the drama involved. I'm now trying to restore this flavor. Thanks, |

Wherever it was, there was a chart noting the various drugs' risk-level, costs, ease of addiction and associated effects. For instance, Dragon's Blood is distributed by Daask members in Sharn. It's smuggled in a dry, inert form that's undetectable as narcotic, and then modified by secret methods to sell through one of the gangs of the city, I forget which. There are different types I believe named after chromatic colors, like Red. I'm foggy on the details, but it temporarily enhances the power of sorcerers who use it. The Boromar in Dura host lots of Dreamlily dens. It seems to act a lot like Morphine or weed. From the following linked site: "This powerful opiate comes from the continent of Sarlona. Brelish healers imported elixir of dreamlily for use during the Last War, but discontinued use once they determined how addictive it was. However, it has found a market as a recreational narcotic in Sharn and use spreading across Khorvaire." Details on dreamlily are here. Another very interesting one is Absentia, which puts you in a coma for an hour and dislocates your mind so you're perceiving the world through someone else's senses, chosen at random, within a mile. There's another called Spider Dust, but I don't know the details. Here are more common food/drink alcoholic drinks of Eberron. |

The initial effect should be malign but rather small, without the drugs the user will deteriorate to the worser states of the the disease. Taking a new dose will bump the user back to the initial effect but will block him from using endurance or heal to improve. The effects can be as thematic as you want, for a touch of irony do something with slowed for the Orien Heir. |

But, remember that the drugs in 3.5 had a good effect for a time, boosting dragonmarked powers, than, without another shot, giving penalties. Maybe like a potion with a desease after effect? |

Each new dose sends him back to initial effect, but time without it moves through all the other less fun stages. Also perhaps each dose taken increases the DC to some extent to recover from it if he ever tries, indicating that the deeper he goes, the harded it is to come back. |
