Dal Quor regularly goes through cycles of light and dark, and the present Quori are working their **** off to keep themselves in the darkness, right? But they're also building monoliths to reattach Dal Quor with the Material Plane, hoping to one day breach it again and possibly invade. The Kalashtar, meanwhile, are working very very hard to oppose this goal. I was just thinking... if the Quori were to succeed and open a gate to the Material Plane, the resulting invasion/exposure to the possibility of being killed again would possibly cause so many deaths amongst the Quori (or upset the real world enough) that they would upset their own tenuous balance of darkness and Dal Quor would shift to the light. If that were true, Kalashtar who are opposing these efforts are actually preventing the light from taking over Dal Quor again, because the only way for that to happen is for the Dreaming Dark to invade the Material Plane, get their **** handed to them by the party, and reset the cycle of light and dark. So, Kalashtar players, next time the DM drops a chance to oppose the Dreaming Dark... just say no! Ha

Ha  It's entirely possible.  This lack of a real answer to il-lavashtar's ultimate fate may be is one reason why the Inspired are so interested in Xen'drik. But I also think that you are confusing the death of a quori spirit with something that would change the Dreaming Dark itself and end the current age of dreaming.  A quori who dies reforms in Dal Quor, and there is no reason why, with the current Empire of Riedra already established, that a host of Quori would be killed should Dal Quor come back into alignment. Or at least that's one side of the argument. The Quori themselves clearly cannot agree on their course of action--they don't know what's going to happen, but they do know that they don't want the Age to end.
#3 Hellcow Jan 20, 2010 21:50:50	Well, if you check page 62 of Secrets of Sarlona, it describes a number of crucial functions of the monoliths, including "they allow the quori to shape the dreams of masses of humans, and in so doing, to prevent change in Dal Quor." The more monoliths, the greater their ability to possess creatures, too. By the time they have enough monoliths to physically enter Eberron, they might not have to "invade"; they may essentially already control.
