I was happy to discover the Korranberg Chronicle http://dragon-above.com/blog/?page_id=18 after reading about it on the boards here. It got me thinking about whether the newspapers in Eberron would have photos somehow or just illustrations? I'm guessing it would be illustrations but thought I would ask.

Also with undead, the Mourning, cults, stories from Xen'drik, demons, and political and social scandals those would be some packed newspapers.

The weather section got me thinking, does House Lyrandar have an active role in controlling the weather of Sharn?

Good suggestion about the photo. I was trying to imagine something more than just a simple etching or drawing but less than say the moving images seen in the Harry Potter movies on their newspapers.

I wonder who invented the "printing press" in Khorvaire? Is it elemental powered and really-high speed printing? Or are the papers printed/written using another means.

If there's a printing press, I'm betting on the gnomes. Probably a focus item developed by House Sivis, but maybe just a general Zilargo invention. If moving images are a thing (or any variant thereof), I'd place my money on Phiarlan helping out. The Mark of Shadow would be pretty useful for that.

Doesn't the Amanuensis spell do this for text?  I imagine a dragonmark focus item with a mass Amanuensis ability that can be operated by a dragonmarked member of House Sivis.  Orien and Lyrandar would be involved with distribution.

There is a 4e item called a Spymaster's Quill that allows duplication of text or pictures, at-will.  In theory you could copy 10 pages a minute with it.  I would probably also make that a dragonmark focus item.

I've always figured on an Amanuesis spell in a permanent item as the Eberron equivalent of a printing press. The presence of newspapers pretty much demands that printing presses exist. I used newspapers as handouts extensively in my last campaign. There's a bunch of articles that you would see in an Eberron newspaper, and I made up templates for papers with three columns. Two of the columns, I'd stick the stuff from WotC in there; the third column, I would write to give information to the PCs. As for other papers, I seem to remember the Koeth Sentinel. In Aundair, I could see the Fairhaven Scroll or the like. Thrane, ummm...they'd have something too, but I can't think of a name.

Thrane's would be the Torch, of course.
