It isn't because I dislike LFR. Its just when all you're eating is chocolate (LFR) you want a break. For me that break is Eberron
Hey, if you don't want to play a living game you don't have to!
Considering I DM and play in the RPGA chances are if they did do a Living Eberron I'd eventually end up playing it.
Also the current staff and budget for the RPGA would have to effectively double in order to get a Living Eberron which I definitely don't see happening. That or halve the amount of modules being created for LFR which I would definitely prefer not to see.
Seems a little petty to wish that.
Just as you hope to see it, I hope to not. Nothing personal. Although its all rather moot as I believe WotC has said a few times they aren't planning on creating a second ongoing campaign for 2009. Maybe we'll see one in 2010, but chances are if we did it would tie in with 2010's campaign setting.

The difference of course being, if I see it, you don't have to play. If you don't see it, I can't play. Which is why I find your wish a little petty... you don't need to play either way. But you also seem to effectively want to stop others from playing either. Without a "living" game, I probably won't get to play Eberron at all anytime in the near future. I might be lucky enough to find a group some time after December (when I can actually dedicate some time to a group), but if nobody is playing in my area, that leaves me out in the cold. Why would you want to wish the inability to play Eberron on anyone?
All it would do is split the player base. Having one campaign for each game makes it much easier to player match.
Can you imagine how frustrating it would be to having your few LFR characters (say a level 3, a 6, and an 8), going to a place that does RPGA events and finding out that there were only running level 4-7 Living Eberron characters?
However, if anyone else wants to be involved, I would totally be up for sharing home game adventures (I have been basically making PDF's for all my home stuff since 4e came out) and plots for Eberron.
It won't be a living campaign, but it would help facilitate home games. And if enough home game DMs participate (i.e. 5-10), we might be able to share local changing events.
That said, almost any plot idea works in Eberron. I had one for PCs investigating *blank-ity blank blank* and then I started rereading old 3.5 source material and just laughed because one very specific idea attaches to so many other things.
I just hope I can find a home Eberron game come December.

The group I run has insane access to web conference stuff (I'm talking big screen TVs and cameras that can be remotely controlled), so I bet I could shoehorn them into allowing a remote PC (pun intended). However, we tend to play at 7PM PST, which could be terrible timing for anyone on the East Coast.

Toronto Ontario. Which I am pretty sure is EST and EDT time (depending on what time of the year it is). Do you know, what time in EST time is 7PM PST?
