Hello,
I'm looking to DM a 4th Edition Eberron campaign on a weekly or biweekly basis.  After a long absence I've got a DM itch again and this will be my last hurrah through 4th Edition.  I'm going to lay out some things now and I don't mean to sound strict, I think this is responsible when it comes to setting up a game with strangers.

  • We will be playing online over Skype with Maptools and Hamachi or with Roll20.net.  I have not used Roll20, but I plan to play around with it soon.

  • I'd like to do a fairly serious, story oriented game.  I'm not interested in DMing a hack & slash set of combat encounters and I know 4E combat takes a long time but I don't want it to be the focus of the game.

  • We're starting at level 1.  I like to level up fairly fast to give you new powers to play with and I'll be awarding XP for accomplishing quests and goals rather than strictly for killing monsters.

  • No Evil Characters.  I'm using the traditional 9 axis alignment chart only as a guide for your character.

  • No Hybrid Characters.  Its a set of rules I have trouble with and I've seen these rules abused a lot to really min/max characters so I'm not comfortable DMing a game with them.

  • We will be using themes.  Let's not use the Dark Sun themes to be consistent.

  • If you are selected for the game, please come up with a long-term goal for your character

  • To stave off burnout, I would like to DM 4 sessions and then be a player for 1-2 sessions for the duration of the campaign.

I am posting this in a few places so please don't feel left out if I can't get back to you right away.  I'm looking at a few different campaign settings so we may not do this one depending on interest.  We can work out a schedule later, my preference is for a 3-4 hour session starting between 5-8pm at a time but I'd be open to a longer game if we can do weekends.  I live on the US East Coast.  There will be a strict RSVP policy a few days before game day and I will keep a wait list if there's enough interest.

Thank you for your time.
