Just a quick querio everyone. There's a mountain range at the far east border of Breland (just north of Kenrun) that also lies partially on centre of the Mournland. I'm trying to find the name for it and possibly some info, but have been rather unsucessful. Any help?

I actually ran an adventure at that exact location once. I always assumed it was just a part of the Seawall Mountains chain with a gap.

Right. On big maps, that might be considered part of the Seawall Mountains, but I'd bet the goblins of Darguun would have their own name for it anyway. What kind of adventurer have you got going on?

Places tend to get lots of names, depending on who the mapmaker is. Some might even call those the Mournwall Mountains. All you've got to think of is some small feature that stands out a little bit, something that makes this cluster of mountains different than other mountains....and bam, that's your name for it.

Are some of the mountains dusted black by some sort of Mounrland-based smoke? Then they're the Dustcrowns. Did an army of hobgoblins take refuge in the mountains twenty years ago during the Last War, only to disappear mysteriously? Then they're the Losthorns or the Void Peaks.

When I used it, the campaign was starting off just before the Day of Mourning and it was the location of the Hobgoblin Outpost from the v3.5 MM Web Enhancement. The party was part of a platoon of Cyran soldiers moving toward the bank of the Brey river. The platoon was waylaid by hobgoblins. The PCs and one or two others were the only surviving captives.

After fighting their way out, they tried to make their way back to Cyre but only found the Gray Mists and a dead, dreary country beyond it.

Firstly huge thanks for the ideas for naming the mountains Ashlock, my brain completely froze up when it came to even imagining a name for them.

To answer your question, the party will eventually be travelling to the Void Peaks (I'm going with that name, very appropriate) to complete a long running quest chain that began over a year ago and will likely end in another years time. An Immoth mage/priest of a Rakshasa Rajah of Winter and Decay has been steadily working towards bringing Risia closer to Eberron and eventually coterminous. He intends to use the bitter cold during that time to empower his master and possibly free it (the Rajah is gender neutral).

In the meantime the Immoth has been sending faithful followers out into Khorvaire to start spreading the word of the new "God of Winter and Renewal". The weather has been getting steadily worse (it's mid-spring in my game and the weather is still wintery). However as more people have started to appreciate the "miracles" of the recently appearing missionaries (such as ensuring that the harvest still grows, animals still breed etc etc), he has been reigning in the worst of the weather-related problems. Now you've got huge swathes of the various five nations and beyond very interested in this new God (which is also spooking the established religions) and giving a great deal of time and worship towards the new god.

So part two of the Immoths plan unfolds. He gets enough faithful worshippers as well as powerful magic and he might just be able to free his master. And high up in the Void Peaks lies the black-ice prison of the Rajah, which has already started to show cracks...
