See, they put out that "rumor" in hush hush tones because they know it will spread faster that way. They do it so that, in a pinch, they can try to claim to be Halflings. "My good sir, you know that gnomes have big ears and eyes, but mine are quite in proportion to the rest of me. I obviously cannot be a gnome. I am actually a Halfling. No, not one of those wild halflings from out east, but a well to do Sharn dweller."
#9 Hellcow May 24, 2008 21:49:35	It's an argument between gnome and halfling, but in my opinion, the short man and woman playing chess on the cover of Dragonmarked are gnomes. Certainly, their general appearance and demeanor is in keeping with how I see the Zil (and they certainly don't have a Ghallanda vibe for me).

Gimble and Nebin both have pointed ears (gnomes), as do the two gnomes playing chess in Dragonmarked (they are gnomes as Keith said, as if you look closely, they both have the Lesser Mark of Scribing on their arms).

I know a girl with pointy ears (her name, which I have forgotten, appropriately means "Queen of the Elves"), but she is most certainly human. Perhaps nearly all gnomes have pointed ears, except for a very few. Vice-versa for halflings.

#14 cannibalsmith May 25, 2008 23:39:57	Maybe gnomes' ears' shapes are a side effect of their natural talent with illusions? So a gnome's ears look different to each person. Yeah, that must be it.
