#1 darkwarlock Sep 04, 2012 16:12:00	I want to build the archetypal Medani half-elf Inquisitive, and so I reckoned I'll start with Bard as the class and poke around in the CharOp forum for ideas for builds: feats, powers, things of that nature. Soon, of course, I realized that Perception and Insight, the two key skills for an inquisive, key off Wisdom, and most bards (Prescient notwithstanding) will have quite low Wisdom scores because of multi-ability score dependency, and Wisdom/Charisma doubling up on Will defense, etc. Furthermore, Mark of Detection doesn't work particularly well for a bard, who is likely to have at least as strong an Arcana score as Perception, thus minimizing the feat's effectiveness. But I did come across a build someone posted in the CharOp forum of a Medani Inquisitive Monk, a la Robert Downey Jr.'s Sherlock Holmes. Seems nifty, but it gives up quite a bit with regard to the social skills I associate with the Medani Inquisitive. community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758... Intriguing as this is, is it really the best route? Does one of Eberron's archetypes really match so poorly with regard to class and dragonmark feat to make the archetype poorly executed mechanically? Anyone solve this puzzle yet?
