If one were to transfer the Spellplague from FR to Eberron, would the Mournland fit as a source?

If you're looking to keep the flavor, I'd say you could hardly find a better place for it. Another possibility is something in Xen'drik tied to the arcane damage the giants dealt to themselves during their war with the quori, but honestly, the Mournland would be my first choice.

Yep. The Mournland works perfectly. Xen'drik would work too, but not as well. I think I remember reading somewhere that The Mournland was going to be more like the spellplague. It's probably just me though...

I don't know I remember a lot of people screaming about them dropping the Mournland into the Realms when word of the Plaugelands first came out... but as I have no idea what the plaguelands are (don't play in the realms) I can't really tell you.

If you do use them in the Mournland though consider making it a localized effect of a specific area, like say the Glass Plateu.

Taht's probably it. Besides that's basically what the plagueland is, in my opinion.

That works nicely.

There are actually quite a few of them, though there is one large prominent one in the realms. It's not quite like the Mournland in Eberron, which is restricted to one particular region.

I will be intrested to see how the mournlands change in 4e. With how the mechanics work in 4e there is no way any adventure party could survive in the mournlands with out being able to heal.

Also while I was reading the MotP I found a very plausible cause for the mournlands creation. I know Keith Baker didn't want anyone to find out what caused the mounrlands, but a masive Planer Breach with the Shadowfell (MotP page.21) fits how the mournlands works from 3.5.

I heard the sugestion that a simple way for the mournland to work was to make it impossible to regain healing surges and lost hp while resting. So yeah you could spend surges as usual, but when you ran out of surges... well then you were in trouble. This also gives me a great idea for the goodberry wine made by the druids.

One drink is enough to last you 8 hours without food.
You regain one healing surge.
You may only drink one pr 8 hours (or 1 per extended rest).

Thoughts?
