Greetings everyone!

I created this thread to share my game with you. As such, I'll post characters, adventures, plots, backgrounds, developments, ideas, homebrewed things and questions.

I hope you'll enjoy reading and that you'll share your thoughts with me. Suggestions, comments and critics are welcomed. Maybe you can even find something worth stealing?

For all that matter, let me introduce you to the cast of player-characters:

  • Garglius, U male Brelish Changeling Druid [The Traveller]

  • Patrius Alior, G male Brelish Human Cleric [Sovereign Host]

  • Naïlo d'Sivis, U female Zil Gnome Rogue [The Sovereign Host]

  • Mindartis, G male Thelanis Eladrin Wizard [Aureon]

  • Mitralys, G male Thelanis Eladrin Bard [Aureon]

  • Faradin d'Thuranni, U male Elf Rogue (waiting for the Assassin release) [I don't know]

  • Saiffer, U male Eldeen Longtooth Shifter Ranger [Gatekeeper]

  • Caelestis, LG female Thelanis Eladrin Paladin [Silver Flame]

Mitralys and Mindartis are twin brothers. They are 127 years old. They come from Thelanis and love to travel to Eberron. Their first travel was around age 25. They were travelling with their friend Caelestis. It was 893 YK, they left the Feyspire of Shaelas Tiraleth, the Court of the Silver Tree, located in the region of Cyre. They travelled north, to the capital city of Metrol, and fell in love with the Jewel of Galifar, the life, the people, the architecture, the food, they loved it all. Then they got curious about the Lightning Rail, which they heard connected all of the Kingdom. What better way to travel and visit all of this mighty kingdom. Next stop Wroat. There, Caelestis got moved by the Silver Flame and spent most of her time in the temple asking questions about the faith while the two brothers visited the famous corners of Wroat and making a short trip to Sharn. However, upon arriving to Sharn, the news struck them. King Jarot ir'Wynarn died and his children were disputing the throne. Rumors of war started to echo in the streets of the City of Towers. The brothers didn't want to get caught in the middle of the conflict decided to get back to Wroat, find Caelestis and go back home to Thelanis in the Court of the Silver Tree.

However, Caelestis who had also heard the news and rumors decided that she ought to remain, learn the ways of the Silver Flame, and protect the innocents. The brothers respected her choice and left for Cyre before everything clashed. During the War, Caelestis spent most of her time in Wroat learning about the Silver Flame. In times of peace, she even got the chance to pilgrim to Flamekeep and other Silver Flame temples. By the last decades of war, Caelestis managed to keep out of trouble and battle. However, when the Daughter of Sora Kell rampaged western Breland in 986, she pledge herself to defend her adopted nation against monstrous invaders. She battled all sorts of monsters, helped peasants flee to the east of Greywall, and saw Boranel defeat in single combat the Ogre in order to seal the off the land now known as Droaam. By the year 994, she had become a support healer in Brelish troops.

In 994, the two Eladrin brothers were growing tired of the Court of the Silver Tree and wanted to travel once again. When they crossed the planar realms, they realized that War was still raging, and it was fierce in Cyre. They decided they wanted to lay eye at Sharn and try to find their friend Caelestis. Moreover, Breland lands were almost unharmed in the capital's region. They learned she was scouting the region of the Saerun Road near the Cyre-Breland border.

Well, that will be all for now, I'll complete PC backgrounds another day. If you noticed, I'm using the introduction adventure at the back of the ECG.

OOC news:

Well, unfortunatly, Mindartis and Mytralis, the Eladrin twins won't be joining the adventuring party. Their players decided the group was too large, but they might come back for some delves.

On the other hand, I'll be adding another player, but I still don't know what he wants to play.

I'll skip some backgrounds to tell you about our first two sessions of play. I ran the intro encounters at the back of the ECG.

First 2 sessions of play

The encounter started as Naïlo, our gnome rogue, entered the tower from the west crumbled wall and meet the Eladrin twins face to face. As soon as they talked, the Kutrik hatchlings rose from the ground below them and attacked the characters. The trio was joined by a Brelish scouting team in which there were the changeling (in human form) druid, the human cleric, the eladrin paladin and the mercenary shifter ranger. The druid turned into a wolf and attacked the hatchlings that were in the twins' back while the rest of the scouting team were occupied outside the tower's south. North of the tower, there was the Elf Assassin climbing the towers wal towards a whole in the Dolgrims' room. He tried to take the three of them alone, and got knocked unconsious in two rounds. The poor guy fell from the hole from where he came, left alone. Since the tower's walls are half crumbled the rest of the group could hear but not see that there was some fighting in the next room, along with some prisoners calling for help.

The Paladin slayed the Kutrik on her and dashed towards north. The Changeling passed behind a wall where none could see him and transformed himself into a Dolgrim, wanting to scout as a monster the area around the tower. Silly move, since the Paladin Lay on Hands the unconsious elf who rose to his feet and went west around the tower and came face to face with the changeling in monstrous form. With a nice bluff check, the changeling managed to stop the assassin's attack. Meanwhile, battle inside was getting tense, and the bard had to heal the rogue twice. The shifter Ranger came inside to help while the cleric fallowed the paladin north where a dolgrim jumped out of the hole in the wall to attack her.

The encounter resolved in the prisoners' room. After killing the last dolgrim, the rogue entered the MArk of Prophecy, became dazed for a moment and lockpicked the manacles of Aric Blacktree the human servant. Lord ir'Gadden gives his gratitude to his rescuers, and presses the matter to leave and rejoin the Brelish camps. However, the PCs take a short rest while presenting themselves to those they didn't know.

Outside, Melora and her emerald claw troops were waiting to ambush them. That fight, I didn't modify, and the PCs killed the lot of them quite easily. After looting the bodies, they assisted to the deflagration that destroyed Cyre and the armies that where battling a few kilometers down the tower's hill east. The Mist stopped at the tower's wall, filling the room with the Mark of Prophecy with mist

What's in the next session:

In the next session, I want them to rescue a few survivors that manages to run out of the Mist's reach. Maybe Prince Orgrave and/or the last PC will be one of these. I might make them battle against horrors from the mist. A battle at the edge of the new form Mournland. Maybe some ghost or aberration, maybe some living spells or elemental creature or a mix of them. Maybe I'll make some sort of grabbing attack from the Mist for those who comes too close of it. Maybe I'll use the Mournland disease to invoke the horrors that lie within.

Moreover, in the next few sessions, I'll want them to go their seperate ways, describe how they went on with life after the Mourning and the War. They'll be invited at a Mourning celebration in Sharn, as the book propose, but I won't be using the Aric plans to destroy the Towers hook. Instead, I want them to travel west towards the Shadow Marshes to play out a modified Khyber's Harvest. The person they will be looking for is Aric Blacktree, but he is the villain, has developped an Aberrant Mark that enables him to see the Future. With four years of seeing the future, Aric started becoming mad. He researched the meaning of his visions and his powers and ended in the cult to Bellashira (sp?) the Lord of Eyes from the adventure module.

So, the PCs will be travelling by foot through Droaam, on behalf of Lord ir'Gadden who hasn't heard from his servant in a while. He has a contact in Greywall that might help the PCs travel with less troubles in the land of monsters.

Long-term campaign story ideas

To this point, I have a few campaign long term story ideas.

1* The heroic stage is centered around Khyber Cults, Aberrations. Discover the Gatekeepers, the Dhakaani. Clash with Droaam agents, maybe House Tarkanan. Might need to travel to Xen'drik for some artifacts against Daelkyr minions. Then, they discover at Paragon levels, that they were manipulated by the Dreaming Dark in destroying Daelkyr forces, but also granting power and riches to their patron Lord ir'Gadden who is mind seeded and pressing some matter in Parliament that would help the DD. go back to Xen'drik for a history lesson, meet some Kalashtar, travel to Sarlona. Then, they could figure out that they need the Daelkyr's help, or Mordain's to raise mental barriers against the quori with chaotic thoughts and maddenind magic. Epic beginning, they discover that the Mourning is the work of the DD, they are weakening planar frontieres for another invasion, warforged are on their side. They need gatekeeper magic to help push back Dal Quor, which will be difficult to have since they made pacts with aberrations to gain defenses against the quori. Maybe the Dreamind Dark is a rajah that needs binding.

2* Heroic tier centered aound House Tarkanan manipulating the Prophecy. Paragon would be some sort of War of the Mark clash with huge impacts on the Prophecy. Epic Lords of Dust vs Dragons. The whole goal would be to control the Heart of Siberys in Shavarath, which controls the world's creation.

3* Mixing 1 and 2: The Daelkyr might want to travel to Shavarath to control all of creation. The Quori might want to control the Heart of Siberys to prevent the Turning of Age. Maybe there could be a big clash with the armies of Shavarath, Daelkyr, Dragons and the Dreaming Dark rajah. The PCs could need the Heart of Siberys to restore Cyre, or it could be used as a reboot device putting back the campaing in 998YK and starting another campaign with different level 1 characters.

So what do you think.
