| #1vickrinJun 08, 2008 3:26:56 | In my eberron campaign im going to be using the Eladrin as elves from Aerenal. The different upbringing to elves from Khorvaire means that I can get away with explaining the extra trained skill and arcana and history bonus's. Unfortunately the Fey Step power doesnt make much sense as far as aerenal elves go. I'd like to replace it with something else more fitting for the setting. If I cant think of anything i'll just give them elven acuracy as well but would really prefer something original. (Fey Step is teleport 5 squares once per encounter... doesnt make any sense for elves of any stripe) Does anyone have any ideas for a racial encounter power for elves from the isles of Aerenal... |

Unfortunately the Fey Step power doesnt make much sense as far as aerenal elves go. If you want to keep the power, you could change the Fluff. Make it "Walk With Light", and have them jump through Irian, or "Spirit Step", and have them jump through Shadowfell (which is now contains Dollurh). Either one makes some sense. They should have a close connection to Irian, but then again, Irian's not supposed to be coplanar, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to jump in and out of it. Shadowfell is coplanar, and it is a realm of the dead, which sort of fits with the Aereni, but on the other hand, it's got a "bad necromancy" sort of vibe, and the Aereni are only supposed to like "good necromancy". |

Ancestral Guidance The spirits of your ancestors guide you back to your mortal form. Encounter * Racial Minor Action Effect: When you are at 0 hit points or lower, you can spend a healing surge. In addition, gain a +1 bonus to all defenses for the rest of the encounter. |

I wanted to add more storyline potential and make the Eladrin beings from Thelanis, the beings that the giants snatched thousands of years ago. Years of being stuck on Eberron and being experimented on changed them into elves. That is all. This works for me and my campaign though, your mileage may vary. |

Years of being stuck on Eberron and being experimented on changed them into elves. Without saying anything specific (and hopefully I soon can, but I haven't had any confirmation from WotC), this is along the same lines as what we've currently got planned for 4E Eberron. You won't see the Aereni become eladrin in canon - which doesn't mean that you can't do it in your campaign, of course. |
| #8starkiller_Jun 12, 2008 9:58:49 | Change their connection to the Shadowfel instead of the Feywild. So call it "Felstep" and change the Fey origin to Shadow: Shadow Origin: Your culture is steeped in Shadowfel & deathless magic, so you are considered a shadow creature for the purpose of effects that relate to creature origin. |
| #9jobooJun 12, 2008 12:35:25 | Why don't you just use Shadarkai then. They are similar to the Eladrin but have a connection to shadow. I have thought about using this method, but it doesn't fit with the positive energy (radiance) they are often using. I am not sure how I am going to make the Eladrin and Elves work in my campaign yet either. I may have the Eladrin be Elves of noble blood (pure blood). Where the Elves are slightly different. This could alow a mixed Eladrin and Elven culture to exist. Eladrin in Ebberon are High elves and the magic of Thelanis is strong in their blood. |
