I just found out that there are no dinosaur entries in the 4e monster manual. All I can say is why? It's bad enough I have to wait a year before I can see an "official" treatment to Eberron, and not my homeruled one, but now I don't even have Dino stats to use for my Talenta Ranger? Not really helping keep my continued interest in 4e going till Eberron, I'll tell ya that.

"insert various classical and iconic NO! scenes here"

Ah well is there anything to "replace" them with?

Snarky-Monkey-san,
When you have a copy of the Monster Manual in your hand, you will see that there are, in fact, a couple of creatures in the book that you will recognize as dinosaurs.

It looks like they have the anklyosaur, the stegosaurus, something that looks like a allosaurus (I think it is a dragon thing, but it still looks like a dino) and it looks fairly easy to convert the three dino looking things into whatever type of dino you want (the smaller varieties of course, no Thunder Lizards).

Well, with the monster creation rules it wouldn't be hard to stat them up, either. maybe I'll start looking at statting up the Clawfoot, Fasteith, and other such monsters.

I betcha a few of the drakes would make a good base for those, with the addition of the Mount keyword and an appropriate rider-feature.

And even if there aren't any you can use now, the 4e PHB itself outright says that they will be printing multiple volumes of the PHB, so you can fully expect loads of monster manuals as well, I'd wager.

They're entirely too profitable for WotC to not print a bajillion of them this time around too.

Or do what I intend to do, find a mundane animal of appropriate size jumble a bit with the attacks and how many legs they use and you should almost be ready to go. Just find a fitting description.

WoTC has said that we can expect another PHB, MM, and DMG each year.

...every year?
Player's Handbook I can understand coming out every year. Certainly a better route then the one taken with the "Complete" series.
Monster Manual, too, makes a lot of sense to make a yearly release of. A whole lot of sense when you look back at how many Monster Manuals 3.5 had.

But a new Dungeon Master Guide ever single year? I can't see how they could possibly come out with enough new content on a yearly basis to make a additional volume to the DMG worthwhile. It would probally start to run dry around year three.

A simple way I'm doing: Staying with 3R until EBCS comes out for 4E.
My players are currently at the beginning of the Last War, and it will be tens of years before they end up in Epic level. And at the end of the war, kids of their kids will rise as heroes, and that is when 4E rules the world.

Nice idea. Course that implies your players aren't chomping at the bit to play 4e. Mine have about as much patience about it that I do, and that isn't saying much. :D

You said it. My PCs are not that much rules folks, and they all enjoy the tone of Eberron, which I well appreciate
