Like I said in my post about vestiges, I've made lots of content for my Pathfinder campaign for Eberron, so I thought I'd share my Tielfing and Aasimar. I'm happy with how they both turned out, as even though their crunch is rather Pathfinder-specific, they're pretty unquely Eberron, particularly my new take on the aasimar.
Tieflings in Eberron Tieflings in EberronThe progeny of mortal bloodlines tainted with fiendish heritage, tieflings are a rare sight in the more civilized nations of Khorvaire, though most can trace their lineage to a single origin. Once, long ago on ancient Sarlona, the nobility of Ohr Kaluun made a pact with the devils of Shavarath for military power and the strengthening of their bloodline. The result was a generation of tiefling heirs, and to this day thousands of years later, the taint of fiendish blood still manifests in their descendants.
STANDARD RACIAL TRAITS• Fiendish Heritage: Tieflings come from many origins. They have racial ability score adjustments based on the specific genesis of their fiendish taint. This choice is made at 1st level and cannot thereafter be changed. —Heirs of Ohr Kaluun: +2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence, —2 Wisdom. The vast majority of tieflings are the descendants of the nobility of Ohr Kaluun, shrewd and swift, but still displaying some of the poor judgement that caused their ancestors to make deals with fiends that had such lasting repercussions. Perhaps this poor judgement is an effect of the pact itself, to ensure that future generations would be pliable to diabolic manipulation. • Skilled: Tieflings gain a +2 racial bonus on two of the following skill checks: Bluff, Intimidate, Knowledge (planes), and Stealth. This choice is made at 1st level and cannot thereafter be changed. • Spell-like Ability: Tieflings can use one of the following spells once per day as a spell-like ability: alter self, blur, darkness, death knell, frost fall, pyrotechnics, shatter, summon monster II (fiendish creatures only), unnatural lust, or web. This choice is made at 1st level and cannot thereafter be changed. The caster level for this ability equals the tiefling's character level. • Darkvision: Tieflings see perfectly in the dark up to 60 feet. • Fiendish Sorcery: Tiefling sorcerers with the Abyssal or Infernal bloodlines treat their Charisma score as 2 points higher for all sorcerer class abilities (bloodline powers, spells, bonus spell slots, etc). ALTERNATE RACIAL TRAITS The following alternate racial traits may be selected in place of one or more of the standard racial traits above. Consult your GM before selecting any of these new options. Tieflings in Eberron possess all the alternate racial traits found on this page, plus those noted below.
• Human Veneer: As a standard action, you may suppress your unusual tiefling physical features for a number of minutes equal to your Constitution score, thus appearing human. The duration need not be consecutive, but must be taken in one minute intervals. This is a supernatural ability. While in this form, you can pass for human without using the Disguise skill. In addition, while in this form you do not take the normal -2 penalty for attempting to Disguise yourself as a different race when attempting to impersonate a specific human. This form is not an illusion, and even a true seeing spell does not reveal your usual tiefling physical characteristics while you appear human (as this is your true self, had you been born without an unholy taint). This racial trait replaces fiendish sorcery. • Small: While tieflings born from humans and fiends are the most common, there have been tieflings descended many races, including gnomes and halflings. You may only select this alternate racial trait if your fiendish heritage is either Sakah or Profaned by Fate, as the Heirs of Ohr Khaluun are universally descendants of the human nobility of that ancient nation. Tieflings descended from smaller races are Small sized, instead of Medium sized, and gain a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a –1 penalty on combat maneuver checks and to their CMD, and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks. Small tieflings have a space of 5 feet by 5 feet and a reach of 5 feet. They have a speed of 30 feet. |

You might want to add two more traits, though: one connecting the Aasimar to the couatl - like the Shulassakar, but not quite - and one linking them to the Eladrin (3.5, not 4E) of the fey realm of Thelanis. I also like your distinction of various kinds of tieflings - well done to include the Heirs of Ohr Khaluun and the Sakah, as well as the odd offshot. I wonder whether you might add one tied to Khyber, rather than another plane: for instance, one born near a rajah's prison (with an ability related to the rajah), or simply touched by the Dragon Below.
A minor aside under Tieflings: Risia is not the Sea of Fire, but the Plain of Ice. The Sea of Fire is Fernia. |
