If the story calls for a CRAZY night where all the moons are new, or all the moons are full, or all the moons are eclipsed by Zarantyr, that's just peachy. However, we have this little tool, which gives us the lunar phases. It's a bit difficult to figure out wholly reliably, but I have a side-by-side lunar almanac for 998 YK. Among the findings: the brightest night is actually New Year's Eve, Vult 28. The darkest night is Aryth 21, only five weeks previous. Anyway, does anyone want me to post it in my standard .csv format? Also: the period for those crazy nights? It goes in a 7507.5-year cycle. I'm not sure where 998 is in that cycle, but I'd sure like to know if anyone has more math-smarts than I and wants to apply it to this problem. |
