Hi
I was planning on running the Ebberon campaign setting. This is my first campaign setting Ive ever run so I have a very simple question.
Do I have to read the whole book before starting the campaign if I'm gunna start the characters off in Sharn? I'm a slow reader and I'm on page 66z If I just need to read just some parts of the book I would like to know which parts I should read. Thanks.

Which book are you talking about?  Eberron Campaign Setting (3.5)?  Eberron Campaign Guide (4e)?  Sharn, City of Towers?

Also, part of that question is how "authentic" you want your Eberron to be.  If you just want "airships, warforged, and magical guilds," then you hardly need to read anything except those three words.

Also, you didn't give any info on what you want to cover in your campaign.  It's hard to tell you which parts you should read if, for example, you don't care much about having Warforged in your game.

If you want it to be the real Eberron experience, then you're going to want to know about a lot of the setting.

Just start very, very small. Zoom in close; have a first adventure in some back alley in Sharn that only involves some diversely-cultured thugs (humans, halflings, and maybe a hobgoblin) who are unattached to the larger guilds or crimelords or anything political.  Meanwhile, keep reading up on the world.

It really depends on what type game you are going to run. Eberron is perfect for pulp stories, for the Indiana Jones type of pulp, just read Sharn and the destination of the next awesome voyage. For a more "noir" feeling, is better to read the whole book, since in Eberron even a little thing can affect the big picture...

In any case, the book should have an useful guide for the various styles of campaign,
