The players in my game also tend to have through exposure and discussion learned at least the general outline of the world. I just got a new player, however, who knows like nothing about Eberron, and I cannot persuade him to read my library of stuff (he is an engineering grad student, and simply doesn't have the patience. He's also pretty much the weakest roleplayer in the group, but since he just started playing about 3 months ago and the rest of us have been playing for atl east 6 years, I cut him slack on this). Is there any "quick guide to the public groups and nations and major places of Eberron" that his character should know as common knowledge? |

Well, it's not as if any novel is canon(thank the Divinity within)....but yes, it shouldn't count even if they were. Anyway, I'm in complete agreement with skrapsan. Then again, some times I avoid making full introductions, it's more like "this is Khorvaire, there was a 110+ years war, this is your tribe/nation/whatever, these are some of its enemies, you'll figure the rest of it out". It depends on the player. |
