They are fiendish shapeshifting mindreaders which kind or steps on the toes of dopplegangers and succubi.
Then they tried diversifying them just by giving them the features of playable classes.
Has anyone come up with more interesting abilities for them to exhibit?

Rakshasas are a historic monster.  They're Indian in origin, and most all of their powers and characteristics originate from actual legends and myths.  Much like, you know, vampires and werewolves.

All rakshasas are sorcerers of 7th level. They're nearly immune to most weapon damage (DR 15/good+piercing). They SR.

I don't think they need new abilities to stand out. Their resistances make them much harder to take down than they'd otherwise be (shrugging off more than half of most spells and ignoring a big slice of most melee and ranged attacks).

The key, though, is the spells. Just change up the list and you can create as many different rakshasas as you like.

Don't forget they are unkillable... you know like we did for it, and then here it come again down the track. Then there are varieties of them. You can reskin a variety of rakasha so that they do almost anything you want. There are plenty of options to make them far more of a dreaded foe than dopplegangers or succubi ever were.
