#1 hailstop Aug 30, 2009 14:13:13	I DM an Eberron campaign and the players are currently hanging out in Xen'drik. Seeing how the Demon Queen's Enclave adventure has had some good reviews I grabbed it. It occurs to me though, since Orcus is not the focus of the campaign, that I could reskin the undead in the adventure to aberrations and have the scenario instead involve the abberation attack on the Umbragen beneath the Ring of Storms. Any thoughts?
#2 Madfox11 Aug 31, 2009 3:31:03	It depends a bit on the type of overarching story you want. Orcus could quite easily be a Lord of Dust. Changing him to an aberration is certainly possible, it would force you to change a LOT of the adventure. Besides the type of opponents, you would also need to reconsider some of Shadowfell encounters. So unless you are working on a big arch involving the Daelkyr, I would probably keep the demon side intact. Remember, the drow side of the conflict also needs work since there are no spider-worshipping drow in Eberron. I would move the adventure top-side, and place the city on or near the surface of  Xen'drik.  The upside of running it like that, is that the drow are much more likely to talk (something I would pay attention to as a DM, because as written an alliance between drow and PCs is unlikely).

I'm actually inclined to have the undead folks be minions of Vol (who is one of the two major campaign villians...in the background at least) now rather than say, Orcus, which should be a bit easier to deal with. Actually, it's interesting how much Vol's goals seem to be the same theoretical goals that Orcus has.  That said, one could use Lolth worshiping Drow in Eberron, with the thought that Lolth is akin to a Rajah, but the drawback is that it loses some if it's Eberron-ness. I would think it'd be easier to reskin the Drow to be Vulkoor Drow or Umbragen rather than reskinning the undead to be abberations.  As you say, if this was a more anti-Aberration campaign it'd be worth it, but as is, it's probably not.
(Reply to #3) Napolean_Warlord	Hi   I'll be running this in a couple sessions.   Orcus -> Katashka - I'll reskin his forces to be corrupted Voolkurians Lolth -> Lolth (one of the many Khyberian demons) Vol -> Will make an appearance as a new final enounter.  She's jousting with Katashka for control of Undeath in Korvhaire   Anyone else run this on Eberron?

#6 Napolean_Warlord Nov 26, 2013 19:59:51	Yes, humorously Lolth's folk are the "good guys" - aiding the party against Vol and Orcus/Katashka.   In the underdark the enemy of my two enemies who isn't stabbing me in the back right now is my friend.
