I have been looking at the Renegade MasterMaker for an build for an NPC but can someone explain to me why there is a creature type limit of Humanoid? Why can't a Giant or Monstrous Humanoid take the class? I could understand a limit of Non Undead Non Construct but just Humanoid makes no sense to me.

Mainly due to the fact that you are turning into a Warforged, and there are no Warforged Giants or Warforged Minotaurs, I would assume.

But why couldn't there be? Giants apparantly had a form of warforged back in the ancient past that might of been there size. Personlly I can picture a Minotaur with a half metal face, a glowing red eye, a Metal horn and one metal leg plus one rather large metal fist.

I would allow any resonably intellegent creature with decent manipulation appendages take this PrC.

The point of the "Humanoid Only" clause was, I think, more intended to exclude WARFORGED from taking a PrC that culminates in them becoming a warforged. Trying to avoid confusing redundencies that the CharOp board would find a way to exploit.

Basically, anything that could become an Artificer and build a magic item should be able to pursue the path of artifact-body modding.

And there is something to be said for the look on the player's face when you describe the frankensteinish half troll half warforged monstrocity lumbering towards them.

And the disc of elemental resistance (fire) embedded in it's chest.
