After that I would pick up Sharn: City of Towers, a 3.5 supplement with more fluff than crunch which describes Sharn in great detail, per ward and district. |

as you can see, most of them are in this most excellent book Sharn, City of Towers. (which has about 1% crunch, rest is city-based information. ) you can get all the maps in the map gallery for this book, but it has no names. (look at my gallery to see what i did with them for my game) - so you really need that book, or someone to help you out with the locations, in order to know where's what. piece of advice for the book, however: Unless you have a good way to organize the information, you'll be totally overwhelmed by Sharn. I'm still trying to somehow organize that stuff better. with over 60 areas, that city is really hard to master. |

I find myself in much the same predicament. If you come up with a brillant solution please let us know. |

Thanks whitebaron. I own the books but had missed a couple of those. I was hoping a sort of "top down" view at various heights would be available, but that might be a tall order it seems. Failing that a sideview (like the old raven's bluff map for greyhawk) would be superb. I'm having some trouble with placing everything and how it relates spatially so a map like that would be great, but I guess one doesn't exist. |

I too would like a (mostly) complete map of sharn as a huge poster-map; but its pretty impossible. I really found the cut-away in the 4E ECS helps me spacially visuallizing things though. |

with all the important information (=ward, district) names missing. This is really useless to anyone that wants to get a good grasp of the city, and you'd need to modify them in order to give them to anyone else to get a grasp on the city as well... As for organizing information: digitally, a wiki would work out best. (but mind you, something more useable than the one on this site) At the table, I'd go with a combination of index cards for various informations, especially for all the names... combined with a modified overview from the new ECG, or a self-made top-down view. There's really no good spatial information available, but lucky me - I worked in that field for many years, so i can easily see relations that others do not. But the only good way to ever fully appreciate sharn is this: get out your tentacles, and suck the author dry, or maybe make him a thrall. CoT is so much information overload, even when reading for the 5th or 10th time, you'll find new stuff in there that you missed before. |
