So here's the basic dillio for this one. Said player is playing said race.
Well, I've never been a fan of the 4e "Mounts have to be large."
Don't get me wrong, I understand it. Small characters with Medium mounts would get to have their mounts in places where Medium characters would not.
Not fair. But come on. Halfling outrider much? The man needs a dog.
Or in his Dino-Wrangling case a dinosaur.
Well as I'm sure the ECG is gonna have a slew of dino mounts, (They better) I'm also sure they'll all be large. Not interested.
What I've done is such; I consulted the other players, none cared. Check one.
I looked around the Monster Manuel for something decent. Check two.
I decided I liked the idea of the Guard Drake as a mount but didn't like the level. The players are going to be starting at 3 and he's 2 so that doesn't fly well. So while at said Halfling's house brainstorming a solution I decided to check the compendium for the info I needed, being bookless at the time.
Lo and behold the darn thing progresses! They have some sort of RPGA adventure version at levels, (I think) 1,2,3,5 and some more or something.
Well hot diggity. I liked that a lot. Made a few more levels for progression and now I have 1-9. This is a party of three adventurers and I don't easy up encounters for them at all so they usually have something like this to even things up.
At 9 I gave the little sucker a fly speed of 4(clumsy).
Normally I'd steer clear of this but they'll be on a giant oversized airship 1/4 of the game so yeah.
Besides, there's a PP now that gives you a Griffon.
Not that bad really.
I'm looking to advance the little sucker in some more interesting ways up into paragon and epic and I need some ideas.

Got any?

In epic tier, it turns into a T-rex. Who cares if it cant fit into a tunnel, its a T-rex!
