Are we going to see any splat books for 4E Eberron? I noticed that there are none for FR. Is this a new trend with 4E? Sorry if this has been asked already, I just wondered if we were gonna see updates of the 3.5 books to 4E.

The 4e model for campaigns is the initial two books (Campaign and Player's Guide) and the rest via Dragon/Dungeon support. Only the two books will be released, at least as of now.

Plus one adventure per setting, in this case Seekers of the Ashen Crown.

I guess that is true. I was speaking books solely, but when you bring that up I should add both the adventure that is officially puclished plus the free RPG Day type stuff (Kyber's Harvest).

Hopefully they keep up the DDI support on a consistent basis. One of the things that really disappointed me with DDI was its complete dropping almost of FR for a while. There was just zero support and by the time they really bought up some great stuff (The Moonshaes Isle article in particular) I had long since moved on.

I don't mind a 3 book per setting strategy, but they must support their settings in DDI adequately for it to work.

Well, I guess this way when 5E rolls around no one will be able to scream, "BUT I BOUGHT ALL THOSE BOOKS!!!!!." LOL

Yeah but after 4 PHBs, 3 DMGs, all the "______ Power" books, the 4 Adventurer Vault books, etc some people will be saying "BUT I BOUGHT ALL THOSE BOOKS!!!!!" anyway :P

yeah, its gonna be worse. You can still use big parts of Faiths of Eberron, Races of Eberron, etc in 4E, but many other 3.5 books like Tome of Battle are completely useless.

Well actually after 4 PHBs we'll have spent 4 years integrating about 22 races into the setting. If you thought people wanting stats for gnomes, half-orcs or warforged immediately was a problem. Wait until they've got 22 races they want to still be able to play.

After all. If its core it must be in every game (at least, that's what I'm getting told in another thread ;)).

Not "must", "has a place". If no one in your group wants to play Ponytaurs, then you don't need to describe a place for them.

Yes I realise this. I've recently discovered some people on these forums think its acceptable for a player to demand core element X be included in every single table's game. No matter what the setting. So when 5th edition comes along, those players will be crying over the 22 core races that are missing, instead of a mere 1 or 2 core races ;)

Well that's like complaining we don't have our Eberronian Raptorians or Spellscales or Catfolk or Fey'ri

They were never actually part of the "core" Eberron experience. You could certainly find places for them (Xen'Drik, Argonessen, Lamannia, Thelanis) but that's not the same as them being part of the world.

Or perhaps complaining about spending all that money on Splat books? ;)

I'm really confused. Who's complaining about what from which edition?

...Why does it matter?

Sorry. Just continuing on the discussion started by

I wasn't being (completely) serious.

Sorry for the confusion.
