#1 fedorapirate Nov 13, 2009 9:28:11	Hey, I'm currently starting up an Eberron campaign, and one of my players has drawn up a House Sivis Gnome, when choosing the languages for the Mark of Scribing feat, I suggested Stonespeech and gave the details as per page 228 of the Campaign Guide. Now I told him to make it two language slots, but he argued (and not unfairly) that the wording is: It is a difficult language to master, and counts as two languages for the purpose of the Lingulst feat (PH 198) So that's only for the linguist feat, a gnome of Hous Sivis could surely learn it with one language slot particularly as he's bonus languages come from the Mark of Scribing feat. I granted this, tentatively but I wanted to know what you guys thought.
#2 Hellcow Nov 15, 2009 1:35:55	I think it's taking the letter of the law over its intent; as the person who originally invented Stonespeech, the idea is that it's twice as hard to learn as any other language. With that said, as Stonespeech was invented by House Sivis for use by House Sivis, if his character with the mark is in fact in House Sivis, I'd probaby let him get away with it as color.

Thanks for the reply, and that was my thinking; if he doesn't want to be house Sivis though it'll cost him twice as much.
